Just wanted to put a different spin on all the negative dog threads recently.

thought it would be nice for people to share their amazing pooches. So any photos/funny stories!

This is my gorgeous girl. She loves all people and would choose a bit of attention from a stranger over any treats. She hates water and car drives but always loves the destination (even the vets!)

would love to see what little joys you have in your life!

Awww, he’s lovely! Here’s our basset, couldn’t imagine life without her, such a wonderful breed

They are such a wonderful breed and if it were not for their tendency to. Ahem be independent stubborn. .. they would just be the most amazing family pet. However they are worth every single minute of training (including months of potty training 😁) to get this wonderfulness if a dog breed. Also seriously only the corgi can rival them in bottoms .. 😃

Four labs @Ihateboris I’m so jealous 😍

I joke about it being hypnotic watching a basset bum when walking!

You got the Jack Russell bit right!,her dad was a Jack and her mom was a toy poodle,I just don't see the poodle in her at all!.Everybody thinks she's a chihuahua. When we first registered her at the Vet the vet was confused and said "Oh,I thought you said she was a Jackapoo".

I foster abused dogs.

The history some of these dogs come to me with, makes me really hate humans. I'm not surprised some dogs bite, given how they're treated.

Anywho, I can't describe how awesome it is, when you've taken in such a scared mistreated dog, and what my time, love, care and work can do. The trust you get from them, when they realise you're not going to hurt them.

Or the first time you see their pure joy, when they're playing with toys properly, for the first time in their life, or they're running around in the woods or beach etc. We don't deserve dogs. My user name is from affection of my latest foster.

I agree wholeheartedly.

We have had a succession of abused adoptees.

One in particular was so badly beaten it took the best part of a year to accept that she wasn’t going to get walloped for doing normal dog stuff.

The joy they have brought over the years has been worth every tear and every worry and every penny.

We currently have a ‘wee arse’. (Again a name of pure affection)

The change has been miraculous.

Highandlows · 25/09/2023 14:42

Thank you for starting this thread. I do not have dogs but did in the past. I know how much joy they bring to people.

Feel free to report dogs threads filled with hate. I read some of them and was really sad. The levels of intolerance are ridiculous too.

Haven’ t seen any negative threads other than those about XL bullies. Which is perfectly reasonable.

She’s lovely.

Perhaps not entire threads but there has been a lot of dog hatred posted on here lately - including stuff like "ban them all" etc.

I was only thinking whilst walking D Dog this morning, there are some amazing dogs engaged in helping us - Police and other services use them for example - and then looking at our useless* hound made me appreciate them all.

*he spreads joy - I make sure he doesn't give anyone unwanted attention - but even the non dog lovers among family and friends have had their hearts melted a bit. He's a rescue dog and had a hard life before so he seems to know how to give people just the right level of sad eyes look.

In case there are any dog haters on here - yes I always collect all his shits, he is never off lead in public and he is not allowed to poke his nose into passing strangers business (or anything else) unless given the OK first.

This is Martha at 4 months old. She's 5 months now. She'd just had a haircut there so she's unusually clean. She loves digging holes and sitting in them, so is always grubby.
My DH is away this week so I'm on my own. Martha and I have chatted away (ok it's a bit one sided) and done everything together. I don't feel alone

I love her to bits.

tintinandhisdogsnowy · 25/09/2023 14:47

Picture didn't post. I'll have another go.

tintinandhisdogsnowy · 25/09/2023 14:48

Martha

tintinandhisdogsnowy · 25/09/2023 14:49

I give up. She looks exactly like Tintins dog snowy. Hence the user name

What an amazing thing to do, I bet it can be super challenging at times and so rewarding. It’s a shame that some dogs get treated so badly that angels like you are needed, but I’m so happy people like you exist.

This is my little pal Bert. He was a stray but loves everyone, especially if you throw his ball. He’s the smiliest little pup that ever was and I worship him.

I've always had dogs since I was a kid. Got a blue merle border collie she's 8, and a 10 week old red/white border collie puppy, they are both nugged up in the puppies bed, just taken a picture and it won't load!!

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 25/09/2023 18:05

This is Billy. He’s quite literally kept me alive after the year I’ve had 🥰. You can see how much he loves me in this pic 🥰.
