Just wanted to put a different spin on all the negative dog threads recently.

thought it would be nice for people to share their amazing pooches. So any photos/funny stories!

This is my gorgeous girl. She loves all people and would choose a bit of attention from a stranger over any treats. She hates water and car drives but always loves the destination (even the vets!)

would love to see what little joys you have in your life!

There is so much dog hate on MN, it's really weird. I don't know anyone in real life who doesn't love dogs, my friend has three and I love spending time with them.
Thank you all for sharing pics of your furbabies (yes I said it!)

There is loads of cat hate too. Weird. Everyone I know IRL loves cats and dogs. I don’t have a dog and for that reason I’d love a friend to bring her dog to coffees!

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 25/09/2023 20:23

I love all your dogs. I'll look after them if you like. For free!
I disliked dogs my whole life until DD really wanted one. Let's just say I was quickly converted to the opposite extreme after taking possession of our stunningly handsome goldie 9 years ago. A dog's love is surely the truest love.

This is Victor, the handsomest, smiley-est, gentlest most well behaved boy.

I have a little spaniel cross, I have trained him to be my assistance dog. I have neurological problems after a serious neck injury. Today he has picked up the clothes I dropped and put them in the washer. Went for a walk, accompanied me to the chiropractor, then post office for a large padded envelope, which he picked up after I dropped it. Back home, he brought me all the pegs to hang washing out, helped me load the washer again. Went to another post office, then to the sandwich shop, where he retrieved my car key I dropped. (There’s a pattern) Another walk, so he can toilet, before going to doctors for my blood pressure taking, and then chemist for my prescription. Back home where he put all the pegs I dropped back in the box. He then brought me my slippers, and finally the remote control. He is now comatose on my bed. Couldn’t manage a day without him.

This is Pingu, the worlds most gormless Pug. The little chunk is always by my side (especially if I’m eating!)

Gorgeous, pugs are the most hilarious dogs. I swear mine is part human, he knows everything we're saying I'm sure!

Here's my two boys, my almost 3 yo pug (with one eye bless him) and my mal whi is just over 18 months.

Tarkan · 25/09/2023 21:00

Here are my 3 boys.

The two littles are Jupe the Lhasa Apso and Titch the Shih Tzu. DH had both of them before we met. Jupe had been rescued from a family who had mistreated him and Titch he had from a puppy, he was the runt of his litter and my late FIL named him because he really was tiny apparently. This is an older pic, they're 13 and 12 now and both have lost a bit of weight. Just when we think they're starting to show their age, they run around the house playing with their toys like puppies though.

The bigger boy is our Romanian rescue Tarkan, making a love heart with his crossed legs. We're actually his second home in the UK as he had started fighting with the other dogs in his last home. He's not perfect with the two littles in our house but he loves going for walks with them. He doesn't play with toys at all, no matter how much we've tried to encourage it he's just shown no interest. But he is the most loving softie ever. He's actually become a bit of an emotional support dog for my 15yo DC who is autistic and has anxiety. A bad day at school and they come home and just give him cuddles. He's a stubborn boy and is obsessed with going to the pet shop for treats or going to the pub and he doesn't understand he can't get into either when they're closed. 🤣

And a bonus photo of Titch from a good few years ago when I made him a Harry Potter costume for a dog show and he won first prize for it. 😁

@PugInTheHouse I massively underestimated the personality that puggychops would bring to the house. He is HILARIOUS! Pugs make the world a better place. Both your boys are beautiful 😍

HerMammy · 25/09/2023 21:18

Harley is gorgeous, I lost my staffy girl 2 years ago and she was the best girl ever. Our rescue boy, he is fab 😍

I think you should start Dogsnet or perhaps Petsnet, we could vote on (as asked by the pet), Am I? megacute or ultracute.

babybythesea · 25/09/2023 21:27

kathieferrars She’s beautiful. Lovely coat.

outcrops · 25/09/2023 21:44

this is my Tony. He was dumped in a suitcase by the side of a road. He’s now making up for it by living his very best life!

PennysLane · 25/09/2023 21:52

I can’t post mine as they’re quite well known. Be too outing.

But one is a therapy dog and brings so much joy to children who REALLY need some. Also she works for our local police force too going into schools and helping kids engage who wouldn’t normally.

The other is an old dog who I’ve had for so many years and is so very well loved by everyone he meets and has helped bring out the best in one person who would have otherwise lost himself. Just through unconditional love and joy x

outcrops · 25/09/2023 21:54

These posts are beyond fantastic. So many amazing companions. I have only been a dog owner for over a year and it’s been life changing

A lot of people in real life hate dogs. Seems to me, people love or hate them. So many dog owners give us a bad name,We were in the local town yesterday,by the queue for the ice cream van,was the biggest pile of dog shit, the owner can't have missed it! It wasn't the only big pile we saw either.

MrsSkylerWhite · 25/09/2023 11:15

Haven’ t seen any negative threads other than those about XL bullies. Which is perfectly reasonable.

She’s lovely.

There has been quite a few. I hate dogs in cafes, I hate dogs in shops, I hate slobbery dogs, I hate dogs off leads, I hate dogs being treated like kids.

I love dogs & this is a great thread op, just seeing the pics of all the happy dogs is lovely.

Agreed but it does annoy me that we get tarred with the same brush. Arguably dog mess affects dog owners more. As more than once I’ve had to do a walk of shame home as my dog has rolled in someone else’s poop

Here’s my ewok in his cone of shame from neutering last week. He is the most loving fluffball, has helped DCs with their mental health and independence, and has a local fan club of little girls who threw him a birthday party at the park and buy him treats on holidays abroad 😁. He just spreads joy wherever he goes.
