I've been lurking here @Rewinder as I didn't want to let myself get drawn into the ongoing debate about Covid versus Flu versus Novo etc.

But I would like to know (as would many others), how the Wedding went. I do hope that it was able to go ahead, and that everyone had a great time, especially - of course - the Bride and Groom?

Literally nobody I know who's had COVID (and that's pretty much everyone), adults at least, have had vomiting as a symptom.
It isn't a common symptom.

It could be so many different things. Covid just being one of many, though I see cases are on the rise again.😫
Hopefully, it's cleared up fully and isn't a norovirus or other stomach bug. 🤒

Sorry, didn't mean to quote you. I got absent-minded.

Nanaof1 · 10/09/2023 06:21

OP--an update would be nice! We want to know how the bride fared, did anyone else fall ill? Was the bride feeling all better (hopefully)? Any snags? Did everyone have a nice time?

Was the cake beautiful?

Well I know people who have had d & v as symptoms, and I live in a country with a much smaller population than the UK. One person not knowing anyone who had vomiting (and seriously, you discuss every symptom with every person you know - how boring) doesn't not make it a fact.

And these muppets are no doubt vaccinated to the hilt and would take more if offered. I despair for the future of the human race!

As do I - but for completely the opposite reasons as you.

Thelonelygiraffe · 10/09/2023 08:11

Any update, op? How was the wedding? Was the bride recovered?

Pmen · 10/09/2023 08:21

Go to the healthfood shop and get colloidal silver. It's a natural antibiotic with no side effects and works quickly. Lots of scare stories out there about it making you turn blue which is rubbish. I've been taking it for years. I order mine from amazon https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=www.propertypal.com/12-manse-road-newtownards/907692&ved=2ahUKEwjemeb-rpuBAxUWUKQEHRYNBnsQFnoECBAQAQ&usg=AOvVaw13ajXSaAf3gXeSM9GIS1wG

I had this on my wedding day, due to stress. My DSIS is a doctor and dosed me up. You CANNOT do this any other time, but get her to take a full pack of Imodium in one go,4 paracetamol and 2 ibuprofen. She needs to drink little and often - mint tea with sugar in is good, or ginger ale. It’ll hold her together for the day!

Maireas · 10/09/2023 08:31

I think the wedding was yesterday.

Qilin · 10/09/2023 08:50

Flu is worse though.

Not really relevant to the thread tbh but I can say that flu has never put me in hospital, it's never left me with a life long health condition, it's never has me rushed to hospital with a real risk of heart attack or stroke and it's never left me needing daily medication for the rest of my life.
Only one thing has done that and it was covid.

Qilin · 10/09/2023 08:51

loulouljh · 09/09/2023 21:12

Very odd during covid we had no flu. Mysterious.

Of course there was still flu Hmm
So no, not mysterious at all.

And no, I wouldn't deliberately chose to mix with others if I had flu, norovirus, etc. and I would hope to keep my distance from them too.

Legale · 10/09/2023 09:52

This thread has brought out so many anti-vaxxers and "it's just a coooold, you're all stuuuupid" types. It would be funny if it wasn't so scary that people think like that.
I don't have covid tests at home, but rather than be an entitled idiot who goes about their business as normal, I'll avoid passing it on. It's an illness, even if it won't kill everyone why would I merrily spread it? A family member in their 40s died from covid and another close family member is extremely vulnerable, so I'll have some consideration and keep it to myself it I catch it again. And yes, this person is also very at risk from flu.

Because people have lives to live.

Life goes on.

Legale · 10/09/2023 10:00

@Nightsku As long as you can live your life, who cares if you floor someone for a few days, or worse? You got to do what you wanted, and that's what's important.

lemonaaade · 10/09/2023 10:17

@Rewinder how did the wedding go? Was the bride okay in the end?

Yikes, this sounds incredibly dangerous advice....too many pills. Bad for kidney's and liver!

beanii · 10/09/2023 10:34

As daft as it sounds - could it be nerves?

No need to test for covid - that time passed a couple of years ago.

Like i said that’s life.

I can’t just not go to work. People have to pay bills.

Fireandflames666 · 10/09/2023 11:15

It could be nerves. I get horrendous diarrhea, pain and nausea when I'm super nervous. It happens.

PeggyPiglet · 08/09/2023 18:28

Since when is D & V a symptom of COVID?

New variant

Mumofasdgirl11 · 10/09/2023 12:56

Hope the wedding went well and you all stayed well. Did she recover in time?

Yikealikes · 10/09/2023 17:02

Which is fine, but some thought for those whose lives didn't go on or go on massively impacted everyday because of covid wouldn't go a miss.

Flu did those things for me, but I didn't expect the world to stop because of it.

absolutelyalice · 10/09/2023 18:16

Colloidal Silver has absolutely zero benefit when ingested. It’s fine if you want to poison yourself but don’t suggest crackpot medicine unprovoked to strangers.

Rewinder · 10/09/2023 20:21

Hi everyone, sorry for the delay, I’ve been recovering from a diabolical hangover!
wedding was absolutely perfect. Our bride was fine, so I think she’d just eaten something that didn’t agree with her
the sun shone all day for us and we had a brilliant time ❤️
