People chucking piss at gigs

Just came back from a gig at a local park. I’ve not been to a gig for ages and was really looking forward to it but the amount of people wasted and the amount of plastic cups of piss flying around really spoiled it. We were nowhere near the front so had quite a lot of space around us but still pissed people knocked in to us like a good few times.

I went and had two drinks, it was £10 a drink each and a no food or drink could be brought in with bag searches so people must have spent a fortune.

Am I just old and miserable or aibu to never go a gig ever again.

Urgh it’s so gross and unnecessary. I never go to festivals anymore because of this.

I experienced this a good few years ago at an outdoor Paulo Nutini concert in Glasgow. What would have been a good concert was ruined by drunk people throwing pee, who were also looking for a fight. It was awful.

We had this at trnsmt festival in Glasgow in 2017 and I've never been back to another outdoor music event partly because of it. Disgusting

I remember some guys from work who went to an Oasis gig back in the day saying it had been ruined because of this. Fucking disgusting yobs. To think there are women out there who sleep with men like this.

It used to be really common but haven’t seen it for a few years. I used to actively seek out tall men to stand behind to avoid being hit by plastic cups of wee.

Men, men do this. No women do. It happened to me at a primal scream concert 20 years ago and dh actually saw who did it and got hold of them. Security intervened but when we said what he'd done they aggressively manhandled him out and praised DH. It's a serious assault - like spitting is. Security could watch the crowd and punish these men but chose not too.

We went to the same Noel Gallagher gig last night!

Luckily didn't see any piss being thrown about but did get pissed off seeing the amount of blokes just having a wee against any fence / tree... they were everywhere even tho barely any queues for urinals.

Btw - still drying out from the thunderstorm!! Absolutely bloody soaked but great gig

The one who did it to me didn't get punched but DH is huge and menaced him by grabbing his head and screaming in his face full volume. He didn't even deny it just looked amazed he'd been found out.

I’m a pro musician in a band and have witnessed utterly terrible audience behaviour during the last few years. It seemed to get much worse directly after the pandemic. If this happened at one of our gigs we’d stop the show immediately, pack up and go home early. If people can’t behave, and security can’t control the situation then it’s not worth it

I'm have been going to gigs and witnessing men piss in pots and throw it for 35 years and never ever seen a woman do this. Where have you seen this specifically?

I’d have uncontrollable rage if this happened to me. It stopped me going to gigs, after some piss landed on people near us. Disgusting behaviour which should result in lifetime venue ban as well as prosecution for assault.

I've never been to this sort of gig but I was once told by a woman that if you go to a festival you should wear a skirt so you can piss in empty pint glasses and drop them on the floor.

I’m sorry I just don’t believe you. It would take a lot more effort for a women to piss into a cup, and no women would stand patiently waiting for their bloke to piss into a cup at a gig so the can handle it (yuk) and throw it. Absolute bollocks unless you mean it’s a man identifying as a woman who still has a penis.
