To want to run away?

I’m only 19 but I’ve already messed up my entire life, I’ve been struggling for weeks but now everything has gone wrong this morning. I’ve messed up my entire life, I have no one to talk to about it. I feel like running away is the only option. Sorry I just need a rant but I do feel like running away is the only option

What would you be running away from?

Orangeandredclouds · 19/08/2023 10:17

Everything that has gone on recently. Everything with my friends, everything at home, the fact that everyone hates me and the fact that I’ve messed up my whole life

in the nicest possible way what could you have done that makes you think that you’ve messed up your entire life? Things don’t always pan out as we expected at first, but that doesn’t mean that things won’t get better or new opportunities won’t come along.

running away won’t solve anything. Problems need to be faced and worked through. Do you have someone close to you that could help you talk things through?

Icycloud · 19/08/2023 10:18

calm down. Take a deep breath. Or a few. Or many. Just forget about it, do something to relax, go on a walk, make a plan for the next week on things you want to do each day, then tonight get comfy/watch a film X

Summer2424 · 19/08/2023 10:18

Hi @Orangeandredclouds
You're not alone hun, honestly we've all had times like this, me especially!
Hope whatever the situation is, that it passes and everything turns out ok xx ❤

Upset a ton of people is what I’ve done, that’s just one of the reasons I’ve messed up my whole life. I was going through something really bad and I downplayed parts so people didn’t worry and now that they are accusing me of lying and hate me because I swapped out the worst parts for things not as bad so that they didn’t worry about me as much

I just didn’t want them worrying about me

I'm sorry you feel this way.

And I mean this with the greatest of respect, you're 19.
Talk to us. Tell us what's up
I can't see how you've ruined your life so much.

Orangeandredclouds · 19/08/2023 10:20

There’s lots of others things that have gone on too. That’s just one thing

OP posts:
Orangeandredclouds · 19/08/2023 10:21

And I also failed my A-levels even though I tried my hardest

OP posts:
CravingASpiraBringThemBack · 19/08/2023 10:21

What has gone wrong?
A lot of people feel like you do at some point in their lives. Things that seem huge at one time in your life can seem minor after some time has passed. Running away won’t solve anything as you are likely to just take your problems with you.

widowtwankywashroom · 19/08/2023 10:21

Do you work
Go to college
Don't engage with these people

Orangeandredclouds · 19/08/2023 10:21

And I don’t have anyone to talk to at the moment either. Also just so you know I have high functioning autism

Can you resit your exams? You can turn things around.

When you feel like this there is only one thing you need to do. Breathe, and wait. Wait till next week. Then if you still feel awful, wait just one more week. Don't react or try to fix things, unless you think just saying 'I'm sorry, I was trying to do the right thing' will help.

Let a very little bit of time get between you and how you are feeling. I promise you, it will make a difference.

I did say I was sorry and they all got angry

I wish I could give you a great big hug. I promise you it’s not as bad as you think it is.
Keep talking to us. The samaritans are there if you want to talk to someone in RL.
You are going through a bad patch but it will be ok. Deep breaths. We want to help

Did you get your results a couple of days ago, or last year? If a couple of days ago, you need to give yourself a few days to process your disappointment. People do fail A Levels - it’s not the end of the world. You’ll need a plan B, but for a few days you just need to go easy on yourself and let the pain heal a bit. What grades did you get?

Give them a bit of time to calm down and then explain yourself. Im sure no one really hates you.

do some things that you enjoy and try and clear your head.

Yes, you absolutely can resit or indeed sit, exams at any age, all other things being equal.

JennyForeigner · 19/08/2023 10:27

Also, if it helps, my brother failed his exams at 18, and 19, and 21, and left university without a degree.

He's a very very successful man who earns nearly x10 what I do and has a delightful young family. He's happy. Some people just need more time to find their niche. You really really don't need to feel so sad at 19.

Orangeandredclouds · 19/08/2023 10:28

It’s not just that I’ve failed my exams, there’s a lot of other things that have gone on to make me feel like this too
