Topless abroad . Yes or no

Just after everyone's opinions. I'm on an all inclusive holiday . Nothing flash . European destination. Hot sunny . 3*. Would you feel offended if a female sunbathes topless at the pool? Just for context I have done , but put bikini top on to go in pool and her drinks . It's literally just going topless when laying on sunbed . More context age range is babies up to 70+ . Lots of different shapes and weights of people . Lots of bellies make and female and lots of big boobs on men. Like I say this is just for context . Just interested in people's opinions. I'm with my husband on holiday .

I would in my younger day, have done both on beach and at pool.
But these days my skin is so very prone to burning that I keep the bits that never see the sun on a day to day basis, well covered. But I would not judge anyone else.

I did swim topless in the pool last summer, because I was instructed to get some sun on my tits by the dermatology nurses in phototherapy. However, we were the only people at the pool which was used by a handful of residential houses, and in 10 days we only once saw anyone else there. But I don't sunbathe much. It wouldn't bother me.

Yes, it is, you're right but not to the pervs I saw filming some of the girls on the beach this year.

I really DON'T want to come across people's naked bodies, thanks! Nooo. But I realise others obviously feel differently.

I wouldn't care if you did but wouldn't do it myself. Men do look and sunburnt nipples can't be good.

I wouldn't sunbathe topless (42) and never have. It's not really the done thing now, about 20 years ago when I first started going abroad I would say most women were topless. I'm on holidays now and only one woman is topless. I've also seen signs at pools saying topless sunbathing was not permitted.

Personally don't know why you would want other people looking at your boobs because they definately do.

I wouldn’t go topless myself but don’t mind others. Never seen it at the pool though,just the beach.

My kids would be mortified if I did it though

I agree with those saying poolside is different to on the beach. I can't explain why, it's just a kind of recognised, unwritten rule.

It used to be very, very common. Less so in recent years. I think it's all the camera phones and lack of privacy with images.

by the sounds of it has it kind of gone out of fashion to go topless abroad?

I did it in the mid 80s quite happily and there were more women topless than those covered up, wonder why it's not as prevalent now? Social media maybe? high chance of a nice pair appearing on tie Tok maybe, obviously that didn't happen in the 80s

I was on holiday a couple of years back and there was one woman doing it, literally everyone else had their top on. I’ve seen it a few other times, in similar non appropriate locations.

I found it a bit curious to be honest. I happily go topless where it’s rhe done thing in that given location, but when a lone woman is sitting around with her tits out, round the pool in a resort, it’s much more look at me and noticeable, for the simple fact no one else is.

I am not offended, more amused and curious, and I do think there is an exhibitionist streak , as genuinely it’s never those with what would normally be seen as an enviable figure who feel the need to do it.

I think it depends on the country. In France most women used to sunbathe topless, but that seems to be more the older generation now, probably over 45ish. I've wondered whether younger ones are more aware of the possibility that their photo may end up on some website somewhere.

It wouldn't bother me if other did but sunbathing in general is not for me so I have never done it. I'm so far away from caring about tans and tan lines that I don't think it would ever even occur to me to do it tbh.

I’ve not seen someone topless sunbathing in a long time tbh. In Barcelona I’ve seen it on the beach, never seen it at a hotel pool.

I wouldn’t be bothered but I might be surprised at a family pool. I only go topless myself at a private pool.

I definitely think that's the case. Young women are more wary.

I wouldn't because my boobs would be flopping all over the place.

I'd rather not see completely topless women where there are children around but you do you.

I wonder if greater awareness of sun safety is a factor in it being less common for people to be so focused on tans as to want to do it. I've had melanoma though so my opinion might be skewed.

I've always gone to Greece on holiday and women would always be topless on the beach, some at the pool as far back as I can remember - but never at all in the past eight years or so, maybe longer. I wonder if it's rarer because everyone has camera phones now? I hadn't thought about it but reading this thread has made me realise I just haven't seen it in a long time. (I never did it, I burn if I even think about the sun so am always in the shade anyway). I guess, what matters more - no tan lines or no one getting a sneaky picture?

Funnily, DSIL and SB just back from very posh hotel in Spain. Their teens (DN 17 and DN 14) were appalled that a few women were topless as it was 'so inappropriate ". DSIL told them to calm down, threatened to get hers out 🤣 and gave them a talking to about women's bodies/ choice etc. They both shook their heads and continued to be appalled🤣.

I used to go top less as a 20 something working in Greece, everyone did, but no way would I do it now 30 years later. Even then, my mam told me never to walk around with them out.

Hopefully no one is sad enough to want a picture of my boobs . Horrible thought though people just taking pics
