Friend taking ages to text back

I text a friend a couple of weeks ago and she had been on line but didn't reply for a week later. I was honestly starting to wonder if I had done something to make her end our friendship. I reply to her text within a day, because even though I am busy it doesn't take long to reply. Again, I get no response to my message.

AIBU to think that it's just rude. Appreciate lives are busy but it doesn't take long to reply.

She's just not that into you. Never mind, doesn't sound like you'll miss much without that friendship. Hope you have a lovely Sunday

Did you reply? Id be giving a 👍 and leave it at that.

PimpMyFridge · 30/07/2023 10:50

Agree, sounds like that's done with.
Hope you have a lovely day. At least you can stop wondering where you stand now.

Bin her off OP, life’s too short for people like this. How irritating and rude.

Just an update. Replied late last night. Apologised as been busy but not able to do tomorrow as not feeling well.

Ooooh she definitely wasn't planning to
come all along. I have a friend like this. When she suddenly goes silent I know skew not planning on meeting up, but waiting until the last minute to make up a shit excuse.

I had a friend like this I got sick of it and stopped making an effort. She would go on about meeting up and then make up excuses at the last minute normally a fake illness. She told me once that she had an ear infection and couldn't leave the house for our meet the next day. I made other plans and she made a huge error in sending me a text meant for someone else saying "I'm put shopping today what are you doing?" I text and said I font think you meant to send me that gold you feel better. That was when I decided if had enough

Or just phone her 🤷🏽‍♀️

This 👆

Text messages (and WhatsApp etc) are, as a previous poster suggests, non urgent communication methods and to be replied to whenever. Phone calls for the important stuff.
