KimberleyClark · 24/06/2023 10:25

YANBU, I love them.

snowlady4 · 24/06/2023 10:27

I'm a fan of fit-flops... which I've also convinced myself aren't that bad! I think they probably are but the comfort is unreal... I alsi have Tevas which I wear on holiday. There is no denying they are atrocious looking but comfort wins again!

ShowOfHands · 24/06/2023 10:27

How very British. They aren't that bad.

ShowOfHands · 24/06/2023 10:28

Bloody hell. I live in Teva sandals and have done so for 16yrs. They don't look atrocious at all.

Radiat · 24/06/2023 10:34

Some are horrendous, others are passable.

TheCyclingGorilla · 24/06/2023 10:38

I have awkward feet. Hotter are the only brand that manages to fit properly. They will not win fashion awards, but are practical & comfy.

Mountainpika · 24/06/2023 10:40

Love them. Perfect for my awkward fit old feet.

immergeradeaus · 24/06/2023 10:43

Comfortable footwear is a feminist issue. I wear hotter shoes and don’t give the teeniest damn.

and yes, they also look fine.

ShowOfHands · 24/06/2023 11:17

Comfortable clothes are a feminist issue.

Whilst we're desperately trying to stem the rise of toxic masculinity in school, I speak to girls who genuinely can't see that bullying girls who don't roll up their skirts so you can see their pants, rip their tights etc, calling them "sad nuns", is simply stoking the fire. Women shouldn't be comfortable if they can be attractive apparently.

Nowt wrong with wearing shoes you like. Aesthetics are important. I love my shoes. But labelling perfectly normal shoes as hideous and atrocious is bloody weird.

Anapana · 24/06/2023 11:18

I’ve got those exact ones. Called Tourist sandals. Love them too

Opt1234 · 24/06/2023 11:23

@TheCyclingGorilla same as me the only shoes that fit properly! I have wide feet and just have 100s of pairs that don't fit. Bought the tourist sandals as the OP and wore them all day the other day and my feet were fine for once! The only other pair that fit properly are a wide foot Clarks style called Nalle Lace amazing....

Opt1234 · 24/06/2023 11:25

@GardeningQuestionTime I bought the black version in the sale paid for delivery and they were £49 but now they're offering free delivery but the price has gone up to £69? Bizarre but I'm tempted to buy all the bloody colours!

Lottapianos · 24/06/2023 11:26

'Comfortable footwear is a feminist issue'

Couldn't agree more. They are really quite nice OP and I'm sure they are dead comfy. No prizes for walking around in pain or getting blisters

Anxioys · 24/06/2023 11:26

Never had a brand been so misnamed

blahblahblah1654 · 24/06/2023 11:27

@BarrelOfOtters the link you posted are quite nice ones. I'll get flamed for using the word grannyish but a lot of them do look very much so.

Thereoughttobeclowns · 24/06/2023 11:28

They’re definitely comfort over style.

They are not as bad as those gopping Saltwater sandals.

blahblahblah1654 · 24/06/2023 11:29

I never wear heels and I'm all for practical footwear but there are nicer looking and practical shoes out there. My mum does love Hotter shoes though.

Screamingabdabz · 24/06/2023 11:30

They’re ugly. But so are Birkenstocks and those DM gladiators everyone is wearing. I went out in the evening to a major city centre last weekend and every woman was wearing flats. Many of the young Hello Polly girls were wearing platform espadrilles. The good news is that flat and comfortable is the fashionable choice at last and this is a quiet feminist win for all women.

TallTrees78 · 24/06/2023 11:34

I've got those sandals and they are so comfy!

I've have very wide feet large feet so I've quite a lot of hotter shoes and don't care what anyone else things - not that anyone has ever commented on my footwear.

Somanycats · 24/06/2023 11:34

Style In shoes isn't a fact, it's a moment. Wear the shoes you want. I like comfort and wear hotter and Skechers. People are cool or stylish or confident and this is irrespective of what they wear. It's who they are. Pandering to and second guessing a moment in fashion is definitely not cool or stylish or confident.

LubaLuca · 24/06/2023 11:36

Comfortable clothes are a feminist issue.

Yes, yes and thrice yes! Get those goddamned Tourist sandals on your feet and enjoy your day.

Onthegrid · 24/06/2023 11:41

If you need comfort and width they are great.
So many brands promise this and then don’t when you try them
If Birkenstocks are fashionable there can be nothing wrong with hotter.

ThomasHardyPerennial · 24/06/2023 11:42

Most of my shoes/sandals/trainers are from Hotter. After years of foot problems, I just want to be comfortable. They have really expanded their range over the last few years, and have some really nice items.

Add me to the tourist sandals fan club please! They are so light to wear.

Their constant sales and discount codes really annoy me though, never know when the right time is to buy.
