Shark Attack

Nice to see that the shark that killed a swimmer in Egypt was caught and beaten to death on the beach.

<Slow handclap>

You know, I am actually pretty pro climate change at this point. Time to wrap up humanity. Bring it on.

Think I love you

The shark killed the human sharkely. Humans should've killed the shark humanely.

Because we know better, well most of us 🙄

Ardiaei · 09/06/2023 23:10

I think the humans acted with the means they had at their disposal at the time. As did the shark.

PoeAFighterAResistanceFighter · 09/06/2023 23:11

Humanely is just a nice bedtime story word humans invented so they could kill easier.

No animal wants to die.

grumpycow1 · 09/06/2023 23:12

Greensleeves · 09/06/2023 18:15

The poor creature was dragged out of the sea and literally punched/kicked to death. It will have died slowly, painfully and in utter terror. For engaging in its natural behaviour in its own habitat.

These creatures are endangered ffs. Not that it would be acceptable if they weren't! If you don't want to run the risk of being predated on by sea creatures, stay out of the fucking sea.

This!!

Shhhquirrel · 09/06/2023 23:14

Sorry @SilenceOfTheGoats that was meant for @Ardiaei

This. There is no humane way to kill an animal that doesn't want to die.

Us humans need to start taking responsibility for the fact that billions of land animals are killed each year for our taste. Fish? You can't even quantify it.

youhavenoshameonyourface · 09/06/2023 23:25

The shark didn’t kill the human humanely, why would humans necessarily kill the shark humanely?

Because we can. We have the wisdom and the means to act humanely and not like angry neanderthals.

The video of the shark being killed is horrific , literally a pile on with what looks like an iron bar Angry

Wenfy · 09/06/2023 23:52

Despite what they say, most Red Sea resorts there don’t have the capability to humanely catch a shark. The locals saw a threat, used whatever resources they had, and gave that poor boy’s dad a chance to bring back his remains.

KimberleyClark · 10/06/2023 00:00

troubg · 09/06/2023 18:44

How abhorrent to kill a shark for doing shark things in a shark environment.

It's not normal behaviour though...

Tiger sharks are second only to great whites in their propensity to attack humans,

Oreoo · 10/06/2023 00:23

Puzzledandpissedoff · 09/06/2023 19:29

They probably wanted to retrieve his body. If your DC was eaten by a shark you are telling me you wouldn't want to get their remains back?

We're talking a shark, not a blue whale, and even a large one could hardly ingest an entire human body. Also, dreadul as it is to think about, it probably spat out anything which became detached, realising this isn't what it would normally eat

I would want to retrieve anything of my DC left. I don't like the way they killed the shark they could have done it humanely but humans are the Apex predator. They need to stop feeding them or luring them to the area. I couldn't give 2 shits about a shark that had just eaten my child and yes I'd want any remains back.

Oreoo · 10/06/2023 00:26

baloosbaloos · 09/06/2023 20:44

@troubg cannot believe that the mood of the meeting is “humans should never go in the sea”. this is so good.

Ffs hahaha we have only been seafaring for around 50,000 years but yes humans should stay out of the sea bloody ridiculous.

lemmein · 10/06/2023 00:43

troubg · 09/06/2023 19:50

If you put your mum and a shark next to each other, and you have to end the life of one, which will you chose?

Going by the thread you let your mum get eaten as she shouldn't be in there.

Quite.

To the other poster who said,

Please tell me why a sharks life is worth less than a human?

Had there been a chance this young man could've been saved by shooting the shark before the attack became fatal are you seriously suggesting they shouldn't have bothered because 'Sharks Lives Matter' too? Hmm People really are fucking ridiculous. If it was your loved ones body in its jaws I doubt you'd be so flippant.

Clubbing any animal to death is abhorrent though, however, killing it was necessary. Horrific way for that poor young man to die whilst his loved ones watched on in horror.

What right have humans got to take the life of an animal, when a human ventured into that animals territory?
None, absolutely zero!
Humans sicken me sometimes with their thinking that they have more right to the planet than an animal / mammal.
All those bleating about how they would want it killed if it had attacked their child, well the answer is simple, don't allow your child to invade that creatures territory and everything will remain safe and well.
Or are they egoistical enough to think that they have a right to invade an animal / mammals territory and they should just bloody well bugger off until they've finished their swim!
That poor creature, such a terrible agonising death for doing what was only natural.

EyelessArseFace · 10/06/2023 01:22

ReleasetheCrackHen · 09/06/2023 18:13

It wasn’t humane, but necessary. That shark killed and then ate a person.

It was a predator doing what predators do when they find prey. Whose fault is that? Certainly not the predator, which was simply doing what nature intended.

Ardiaei · 10/06/2023 01:28

Because we know better, well most of us

What makes you think you know better? There is nothing better about you. Different perhaps. As all animals are. But you’re not better. You are an ape with an ego that decided to stand on two legs. Get over yourselves 😆

Are you proposing humans never go in the sea? We have been doing it for 50,000 years. I blame the people who have been luring the sharks with food for money. They normally wouldn't hunt so close to shore. They will probably set up shark deterrents. Apparently we should let sharks kill our relatives absolute bullshit hahha!

Oreoo · 10/06/2023 01:42

All these shark rights activists , I really believe if their DC was about to get eaten by a shark they wouldn't hesitate to kill it.

Where is humans territory then? Person gets killed by bear-shouldn't be in the woods. Person gets killed by snake - shouldn't be in the grass. Person gets killed by alligator shouldn't be bear the river. Person gets killed by shark - shouldn't be in the sea.

Surely humans have been in woods and seas and rivers for a very long time at this stage. Where are we allowed to be? Other mammals can fight it out in mixed territories but humans always have to stay where there is no other animal/fish/reptile or tough shit, smile and let the shark eat your children

Umm yeah exactly. They were there first. Humans don't have a territory, it's called the food chain!! 🙄 I can't believe some of these posts, smh. It's the same with Physics, try sticking a fork in a plug socket and see how that goes.

Don’t be daft that Tiger shark was not acting normally, it is no different from putting down a dangerous dog that has mauled someone.
