’Multiple near collisions’ ‘Could have been fatal’… Yeah but it wasn’t thought was it?! Surely there’s more important news stories to take up all the news channels with! Right?

'Near catastrophe consequences' was what H&M press released, NYC police reported that there were no collisions and no one had been prosecuted, two different stories

I have no strong feelings with H&M, but I cannot help wondering why they would have their driver engage in such a chase , knowing , so tragically, what can happen ?
and I think the fact that their spokesperson was the one to announce it smells of attention seeking.
Which is a shame, Meghan had made the news at the awards ceremony, and did not need the attempt at linking them back to Diana.

I can’t get my head around why they would agree to their driver engaging in a chase either.

All the details apparently came from PH's pr people, the mayor of NY has expressed doubts that it could have gone on for two hours and at any sort of speed, and the taxi driver they used (thinking that would be a decoy) said they weren't at risk and he wasn't going fast...

They'd just left an event where they were photographed - why do they care if they were photographed more sitting in the back of a car? It's hardly a scoop 'couple returns home together after fancy night out'. Diana had been trying to stay out of public engagements at the time of her death, it had just come out about her relationship with Dodi, and there were rumours she was pregnant. That's why the paps were so interested in her.

M and H would love to be that interesting, but sadly, there is nothing to be interested in.

I agree with this.

It seems they weren’t chased but didn’t want their hotel location spotted. So went round in circles for 2 hours with a NYPD escort.

I'm a total cynic this feels like "evidence manufacturing" honestly I don't even dislike them im fairly ambivalent to them but a two hour car chase in new York? I'm not sure about that headline

The NYPD said the pappraazzi made the Sussex’s journey home ‘difficult’ but no collisions or arrests happened.

A two hour chase in New York - is that even possible? I have been to New York several times - the traffic and the road works are horrendous - all hours of the day and night.

They could be really likeable people with the right occupation and PR angle. If Camilla can make a comeback (she was FAR more hated in the 90’s and now she’s Queen) then these 2 can.

There can only be a chase if they decide to participate. Absolutely nothing stopping them pulling over safely/ driving to a police station.

Disgusting actually to try and make something out of this to try and pull a 'Dianna' angle.

Totally agree. Especially given they'd just been posing for photos in front of the press. Huge hypocrisy. And seems all too contrived to spin the Diana / press / security angle. Remember the fake footage of M&H with M commenting on paparazzi following them and they were none? This seems rather contrived and fits in with M's current attempted return to the spotlight.

It's all very tedious. I wish they'd fuck off and enjoy their privacy in actual, er, private.

That was my thoughts. They chose to opt out, surely they have their own security, and in the states, probably highly trained armed personnel.

Yes, it is certainly scary based on his mother, but he has chosen not to opt out of public life, just the royalty side. His security is his problem to solve. His other option is to live a low-key life away from publicity. He needs the money and material for his 'woe is me, truths' books, though.

She criticised everything the Queens stands for, had lived for and built on because she quite simply didn’t get it and her Dumbo husband neglected to tell her what RF life was going to be like.
