I feel sick watching king charles

I don't want him as king. I feel sick watching a bit of the coronation this morning. I just caught a bit of it and I felt ill.

We are not subjects. It's 2023.
I don't want to be like an animal with an owner
I don't like the man. He has had so many scandals and bad friends. Why should he be allowed to rule over us.
This stuff shouldn't be going on in 2023.

Anyone think the same?

Yes he can pretend all he wants, he ain't my King.

Are you a UK citizen? If you are, then there's very little you can do about the fact that Charles IS, in fact, 'your King' 🤦‍♀️

Sure, you might not like it, and can rant the day long about it if you wish...but as long as you are a UK citizen, then Charles III is your King 👍

If this is something that REALLY bothers you, you have the choice to relinquish your citizenship HTH 👍

Roussette · 06/05/2023 14:38

@Mooshamoo

I am with you. I have found it totally nauseating if the truth were known. Topped off with the balcony appearance and crowns on with a 734ct diamond in his crown, let alone hers.
Robes, ermine, entitled people, Camilla, looking down on the people, I could go on
Just dreadful.

I don't think Charles wants to do it either.

From the bit I say, he looked like he didn't want to be there, and would rather be having a nap.

Charles strikes me as a man who would rather be pottering around the garden in highgrove, then being a king.

They are kind of pushed into doing it aswell aren't they.

You mean he looked thoughtful during and ritual during moving important ritual?

They both look really happy standing on the balcony with a mall packed to the rim with cheering crowds.

Twillow · 06/05/2023 14:40

I agree. Today more than ever I'm feeling conscious of their pointless privilege and disassociation from the lives of most of us.

Roussette · 06/05/2023 14:41

p.s. @Mooshamoo Stand firm against the personal attacks. Unfortunately, it's the nature of those that love the RF with a vengeance. They cannot stand dissent from us plebs.

He looked like he was about to pass out and faint. There was fear in his eyes at points.

To me he looked like he would rather be somewhere else, but that he had to do it out of duty. But maybe he just felt terrified in front of millions of people on the day. And is quite happy being king.

who knows.

I think prince harry did say once that "nobody in my family wants to be king".

I dont think many do think that way though. Most are indifferent and the majority of others who dont mind the monarchy enjoy the ceremonial aspect, are interested by the history and whatever else rather than believing they are higher beings. I expect for a lot who went to watch today it was a really brilliant experience seeing the military parade, the atmosphere and I suppose in the same way as others in the media etc catching a glimpse is probably a bit exciting rather than life affirming or anything dramatic. Of course some people take it to extremes just as those who worship celebrities or whatever, but reality is there's a huge gulf between being vehemently against the RF and idolising them, most people are in the middle.

Bowing isn't as prevalent now except on formal occasions which presumably people can avoid if they don't wish to partake in it. I've met the Queen, Prince Philip and Harry and didn't have to bow or curtsey to any, this was in a professional capacity as well.

Yeah I appreciate some are going for the experience, but I really struggle to get excited about it all in the current climate.

I think a lot of people hold a lot of nostalgia with the RF and it brings back happy memories for them, but it’s not something I myself have grew up with so maybe see it differently.

Except Harry. He said he’d be king instead when William said he didn’t want to be. They were young but it might still might hold, hence the bitterness at being the spare. 😁

SNAFUED · 06/05/2023 14:54

They're just a bit irrelevant really aren’t they. The coronation weekend will soon be over and they’ll fade into the background again.

I’d prefer not to have a RF and think that will happen in time. Til then, they’re not worth getting worked up over.

At least Charles is a bit interested in environmental issues I suppose. It’s Anne I can’t stand. She did an interview recently where her comments about slavery were Hmm. And obviously Andrew. Sick bastard.

He probably was very nervous and mindful of the enormity of the occasion. I think he will make a great King as will William eventually.

Harry is largely irrelevant now in the RF. it’s clear there will be no reconciliation.

Juanne · 06/05/2023 15:06

I could cope with him, but not Camilla. I’d’ve loved for H & Meg to be crowned instead of those pair of cunts.

Are you always this batshit? I don't even know how to talk to someone so crazy Seriously.

I don't have the coronation on tv. I'm not watching it at all. My aunt and cousin are not watching the whole thing either. We haven't even been in the house. We have been out for walks. We came back . Made a cup of tea My aunt flicked through and put the coronation on for about ten minutes .

As I said , I walked through the room and I caught a few minutes if it. When Camilla was being crowned. We are now going out if the house again.

Can you please stop being so utterly batshit crazy now. Seriously .

Honestly it's like trying to talk to a wall of insanity

Fucking hell, I thought I attracted the really weird posters in here but you’ve outdone me OP 🤣

How very dare you have and Aunt who turned on the TV!

Seriously, there are some posters on here that make me worry for someone I’ve never met.

To be the centre of attention and be multimillionaires…. No, they don’t want that at all.

@KitKatLove

As I’ve already said I can forgive.

But it isn’t appropriate to be defender of the faith and be in such a position of power if you have behaved as Charles and Camilla have.

Conduct of the former Queen was impeccable…. What are we left with now.

An old man with no constitutional power who has more than served his apprenticeship and unless there’s something you’re not telling us there will be no change whatsoever in our daily lives.
He was married off to the only remaining virgin in the shire, a woman he didn’t love. If you have a child would you and those nearest to you treat them in such a way that they feel they have no choice but to comply. He didn’t apply for the role of king, whether you like him or not he’s the one who’s going to be staring at you from coins, banknotes and stamps. Take comfort from the fact that King Charles III probably won’t even get a silver jubilee.

What makes you think the conduct of the Queen was impeccable? She had a public persona and that's all us plebs ever got to see. The Royal Family's relationship with the media is questionable. There is probably a hell of a lot that went on during her life that we never got to find out about. There was actually a lot that was the opposite of impeccable actually:

She was a distant and often absent mother to Charles growing up, no doubt leaving him with lots of issues which he then passed onto his own children.

Why did she insist on the outdated concept of Charles marrying a young virginal woman who was simply seen as a good match and therefore a more suitable provider of heirs than Camilla was.

Why did she not veto the idea of the young princes walking behind the coffin of their dead mother in front of all those wailing crowds. That was despicable.

Why did she not step aside many years ago for Charles to become King when he was younger and fitter, more up to the job and more relevant to the public. Particularly when her health started failing her.

The truth is she liked her position and didn't want to be sidelined. She forever spoke of "duty" and "service" but no-one asked her to "serve" them, and what does the word mean anyway to the ordinary person on the street who works for a living? As for protecting Andrew......

treespouse · 06/05/2023 15:41

"Rule over us" oh come on 🤣
It's all symbolic. So I'm enjoying it for what it is. Pomp and ceremony.

When the Queen became like an elderly granny I did warm to her more than when she was younger. I didn’t much like her in her younger years, she was too aloof and not very warm (which is ironic considering she had a very warm family life with her parents). She definitely seemed warmer as she aged. She was never taken to task over the pressure Charles felt to marry the too young Diana for no other reason than she was a rarity in their circles of prospective wives by being a virgin.
