To be offended by Nike?

My go-to sports brand is launching a new sports bra using a transwoman influencer.

What are they trying to communicate to me, their target audience? That their new sports bras are too wide in the back and have no extra space and good support for my breasts?

I would have thought a fair bit of biological reality goes into designing sports clothing for men and women, to ensure maximum comfort and optimum performance.

I feel… mocked. Is this what Nike thinks women are?

The funny thing is, Nike do have history of politics and appearing right-on, but on this occasion they’ve missed the train by 2 years… I invite you to consider carefully where you spend your woman-money.

I won’t buy Nike after seeing this nonsense, nor will my teens. Stopped buying from Modibodi (period pants) for similar reason.

If it was just a normal trans women, I wouldn't be so bothered.

The fact that it is Dylan, is a joke. They are taking the piss out of both women, and trans people. They are not even legitimately transsexual.

Besides that, the market for Nike is not the work left lot who buy into Dylan. The market is majority teens into urban wear who would rather someone like Maja Jama, Or a grime artist was the face of the brand.

Could you please define "legitimately transsexual". Thank you.

In which case you're just the market Nike is aiming at.

Although one would think Nike would want to maximise their profits. But clearly maximising profit not a thing anymore for many big businesses. So many companies, including Disney, have trodden down this virtue signalling, reduced profit making pathway. Weird business model.

They can do what they want. Its their company. If they want to see their profits drop then that's up to them. I'm simply pointing out it's a shit business model. Although I must point out, virtue signalling isn't actually generally inclusive anyway, even if that's what you've chosen to believe. It's quite the opposite.

@PSNonsense unfortunately to people like @hotdiggetydog it's much more important that Dylan feels included. Forget ALL the women across the world. The man must come first.

Some who has experienced great discomfort living as the sex they were born in, so for the sake of their mental health, chose to socially and medically transition to the opposite sex.

Not some piss taking drama queen doing it for internet clout. Damaging the reputation of trans people and further pissing of women.

Also it’s a bit of a reach for you to take from my comment that I raise my teens not to be aware of issues like this.

I genuinely don’t know anyone IRL that holds the views that people do here. I try and avoid these threads for this reason. There are so many more worrying things going on in the world than a tik tok influencer wearing a sports bra.
