I wouldn't have called myself a republican before now but I think the 'Queen' Camilla thing has tipped me over the edge.

Pretty audacious considering their history and I think a lot of the public won't agree. I certainly won't be celebrating or even watching coronation.

Couple get married, sadly marriage comes to an end, man remarries ow - it’s hardly an unheard of scenario. Considering the support for Boris despite his multiple affairs I don’t think the public are that appalled.

‘Consort’ is swiftly being abandoned by the media and Queen is ‘gently’ replacing it. I’m sure if enough people feel like the OP then the monarchy will, in fact, be gutted.

The same as Queen Alexandra (wife of Edward VII) , Queen Mary ( wife of GeorgeV) and Queen Elizabeth ( wife of George VI) Honestly it’s just like Mr and Mrs , Duke and Duchess, Earl and Countess etc etc Just a lot of rather silly titles not sure what the fuss is about ; the wife of a King is the Queen. ( unlike the Kate Queen who was Queen Regnant )

No it's not. She's the Queen because she's married to the King. That's the way it works. Check the spouses of every other King. QE2 knew that full well.

Not this shit again. It's not a change. She became Queen Camilla last September. She is also Queen Consort. Same as Queen Elizabeth (the one who was married to George VI), Queen Mary, Queen Alexandria. All Queen X as well as Queen Consort. She might still be styled Queen Consort sometimes, she could have been styled Queen Camilla from the day the last Queen died. It's all the same.

She is the kings wife. She's queen.

Exactly same as Queen Alexandra wife of King Edward VII and Queen Mary wife of George V also Queen Elizabeth wife of George VI. Only later was she known as the Queen Mother presumably to differentiate her from her daughter Queen Elizabeth II
Queen Camilla is her title and Queen Consort is her role.

TBH I’m surprised they’ve changed Gladys’s title but then it’s all about pomp and nonsense. Just one bollocks title exchange for another really.

I completely agree. Didn’t have any strong views before but am sick of the lot of them now. The despicable way they both treat Diana, Prince Andrew and the refusal yo have a low key coronation despite a huge recession has just tipped me over.

It’s somewhere between hilarious and tragic that, out of all the obvious rationales for ending the monarchy forthwith, the thing that’s made you (mildly) republican is that the current king, like swathes of previous ones, shagged around while married.

Assuming you meant Camilla not Kate - yes. If KCIII does first she will have a title of some sort. Like the Queen Mother did.

No. From the day Charles dies she will be both Queen Katherine and Katherine, Queen Consort. Same as Camilla is and has been.

i can’t imagine she will stay with him once the children are grown up
