Do you consider 5ft1/155cm height fur a woman very short or not in the realms of average height ?

I was always told as a child I'd be tall as an adult - by everyone around me - but my actual adult height is 5ft1/155cm. I'm female.

I’d consider it short but not abnormally so

'Shorter than average' here in UK but not noticeably short.

I'm only a bit above that and I definitely feel I'm not average height, at least not with kids seeming to get taller and taller each generation!

I'm 5ft. I am officially small. I can't even reach the top shelf in the supermarket and trousers are always far to long for me.

I would say quite average. Does it bother you particularly? I hope not.

At an inch taller than you, I can confirm I suffer exactly the same problems !!

I'm around that and I consider myself small, even though it's usual for my age group 55+. I too was a tall child. By today's standards it's short, which is why there's limited clothing and special petite ranges.

It's short that's my height, most other women I meet are much taller than me!

Objectively it's a bit on the small side but not excessively - I have to be careful to choose trousers etc that are right for my height but they are available. It may be a little generation dependent though as the average height is increasing.

I'm 5'2 (3 if I'm feeling generous) and I'm one of the shortest people I know, apart from my mum and sister.

So not within the realms of average height.

Tiny! But I’m 5’11. One of my best friends if 5ft and we look like a comedy duo out together .

I'd agree with this. I'm 5'6" and think of myself as average.

It’s possible you were above average height for your age as a child and your growth slowed.Not unusual, some children have sporadic growth spurts at different ages.

Are you bitterly disappointed not to be tall after being told repeatedly you were going to be?

Short. I'm 5'8 and don't feel particularly tall unless I'm wearing heels these days.

It's short, DM is 5'1 and is definitely small. We think DS will be taller than her before secondary school. My SIL is around the same height and buys her shoes in the children's section. That is definitely small. I come from a small family my dad and brother are around 5'7/5'8.
I'm an outlier at 5'9 which I think is tall for a woman, DH is 6'4. DS is 4 and almost as tall as his 8 year old cousin, he is tall for his age and she is small for hers.

I would say that’s definitely short. I’m 5’3 and a bit and I’d say I’m shorter than average. Husbands 5’4 and he’s definitely short for a man ☺️
Reading and typing the word short so many times has made it sound like a really weird word 😆

Well, it's tall to me -but I'm only 4ft 8, so could only every dream of the heady heights of 5ft anything
(None of the women in my family- mum, sister, both grans were taller than 4ft 11- until my niece came along. My dds are going to be about 5ft 2-3).

My Christmas present was a new kickstool for the kitchen (the previous one was a gift from my late MIL, 18 years ago).
