Weird things my body does....

Over the past few weeks I've started using a brush to apply powder to my face after foundation. Before I'd just use the pad that comes with the compact.
For some reason using the brush directly in the middle of my forehead creates a reaction that feels like pins being dragged down my head.
I remembered that I had a similar reaction when I had a facial last year that involves brushing something onto my skin.
Also when I eat anything super minty it makes my ears itch.
Anyone else's body do weird things?

The library/bookshop/poo thing is a recognised phenomenon. I read something about it once but can’t remember what or where (helpful!) Anyway, I get it with embarrassing frequency.

When I have an itch it often takes me ages to work out where it’s coming from. So I think I have an itchy chin, scratch it but no - now the itch is in my scalp. Than my ear. Then my thigh and finally I locate the actual itchy spot and once it’s scratched the itch goes away like for a normal person.

I’ve never known anyone else the happens to!

This happens to me a lot and it’s so annoying. It was happening a lot more when I was a child

VeganStar · 22/03/2023 06:48

If I eat anything super sweet/sickly such as a lot of butter icing, I have a tickling itchy sensation behind my eyes.

Firecarrier · 23/03/2023 00:09

Raw carrots make me super thirsty and apples make me super hungry

I also get the disappearing/moving itch

If I haven't been running for a while I get an all over itch so bad it makes me feel sick in the pit of my stomach and I want to rip my clothes off and have a good scratch but it will lesten after a couple of times til I'm OK to run again without itching

Check out Aquagenic Pruiritis . And beta alanine.

Whenever I watch something on the I pad- usually Channel 4 or ITV- my left ear drum flutters- not so much with dialogue but with incidental music! It's really irritating!

I can also activate my stapedial reflex. ( something your middle ear does to protect the inner ear from damage following a loud noise- usually totally involuntary!)

I can also flap my ears quite noticeably!

I have weird ears!

FootieMama · 25/03/2023 21:13

The sound of sizling food heart my ears

I never have little-toe nails for more than a few weeks. I think the nail bed is weak, plus I have those stupid fin-like little toes. So they grow, then at some point fall off.

Usually I don't even notice.

SAME!!! I was so glad my children didn’t inherit my weird baby toenail or lack thereof. It’s a big cause of hilarity with my friends! 😂

When someone or something makes me jump, I get stabbing pains and really itchy armpits 😂😂😂

Yes I get this if I have a shock or something like a near miss in the car!

I also sneeze after eating certain sweets. Percy pigs everytime 😂

fuckitfuckitall · 26/03/2023 10:39

Sometimes I feel really sick, then I usually sneeze and feel fine.

Badanxiety · 26/03/2023 11:35

If I eat mashed potatoes the roof of my mouth goes numb
if anyone whispers in my ear my bum cheeks tickles
Maldonado get the bellybutton/ lady area thing
if I watch anyone fall I get a funny feeling in my lady area
totally weird one, if I’ve chopped onions my cm will smell like onions 🤷🏼‍♀️

I sometimes pass out when I have a poo

This is called vasovagal syncope, and is a know 'thing'. It happens to me so often, I need to put an old duvet on the floor around the loo! Apparently the severity of mine is probably linked to other conditions I have.

KimberleyClark · 26/03/2023 15:07

I can scrunch up my toes and point with my big toe, but only with my right foot.

Nicetoseeyou1980 · 17/03/2023 11:08

If something happens that scare me (as in a near miss etc) I get this weird sensation in my arms and hand almost like pins and needles.

Yes I was looking for this comment! Most often after a near miss when driving so thought maybe something related to gripping the steering wheel tightly, but noticed it this morning when DH dropped a glass and the noise made me jump

Smellsliketeeth · 26/03/2023 15:17

My son gets this when he has chocolate mousse, we googled it and there is a name for it, I can’t remember what it is but it translates to ‘orgasam of the face’ just what a 15 year old wanted to hear 🤣🤣

Watermelonsugarcube · 26/03/2023 15:40

Oh and sometimes when I do a wee on a cold day I feel a warming sensation in my feet

Glitterblue · 26/03/2023 15:47

Plucking my eyebrows makes me sneeze

Eating scones makes the back of my bottom front teeth feel weird against my tongue - either my teeth or tongue feels furry.

If I have a really blocked nose, the kind you absolutely can’t breathe through at all, if someone or something makes me jump, my nose clears!

loosestrife · 26/03/2023 17:22

@HurryShadow , my eyes squeak too! Both of them in my case. I've never heard of anyone else doing this and I'm oddly pleased to learn that you do.

wellstopdoingitthen · 26/03/2023 18:53

If I wiggle my thumbs, I have an urge to wiggle a phantom digit on the inside of my feet next to my big toe.

MaMisled · 26/03/2023 19:10

I've only ever told DH this but, many times since I was a teenager, if I'm really angry about something and need to walk even a very short distance (I don't drive), I orgasm! It's very confusing and makes me stagger a bit!

HermioneIsMyHomegirl · 26/03/2023 20:01

To someone early in the thread (maybe SnaccidentsHappen?), i also get the tingly, painful sensation if I haven't eaten for a while and take a first bite of something. I looked it up, was diagnosed and attempted to be treated for...drum roll please....First Bite Syndrome. Does what it says on the tin. Sometimes mine can be incredibly painful, so the doctor attempted to treat it with Botox. Didn't work, but it passes so quick, I can cope!

If my sinuses are blocked, I can make water shoot out of my left eye - it can blow bubbles too!

Can tick the box on many of these others ones as well!

Whenever I drink two bottles of wine, my head hurts.

I’m impressed, it’s two glasses for me

Omg me tooooo!! I had no idea this was a thing! I tried to Google it once but nothing came up so I thought it was just me 🤣

Justforlaffs · 17/03/2023 21:25

I don’t think this is that unusual - something to do with the frontal lobe - but if I sleep in my back I have horrendous nightmares!

Literally every single time I have a nightmare I wake up and I’m on my back.

Also, since being small I rub my thumb against my index finger nail to make me go to sleep.

Me too with the back-sleeping nightmares! 😳
