Weird things my body does....

Over the past few weeks I've started using a brush to apply powder to my face after foundation. Before I'd just use the pad that comes with the compact.
For some reason using the brush directly in the middle of my forehead creates a reaction that feels like pins being dragged down my head.
I remembered that I had a similar reaction when I had a facial last year that involves brushing something onto my skin.
Also when I eat anything super minty it makes my ears itch.
Anyone else's body do weird things?

Eating kiwis make my.lips swell up. Obv an allergic reaction and I have full lips anyways .
Really cold water hurts the roof of my mouth.
Putting my finger in my belly bottom tickles my privates (it's nice lol).

Kiwis make the roof of my mouth itch so I'm probably mildly allergic too. I might try them again to get fuller lips though.

If I'm lying in bed in the dark awake but with my eyes shut, I see flashes of colours if there are any sounds. Louder sounds mean brighter flashes and different sounds make different colours and patterns.

It only happens at night in the dark. It's quite pretty at times, even if a bit strange.

This is called synthesisa
kandinsky had it and based his life’s work around it

Of I see a video of people falling or getting hurt, I get a heavy "punch" sensation in my groin at the moment of impact.

If I pass a tricky (hard/dry) poo, I get an itchy pain in my hip.

I get this. The punching thing. It's especially bad if it's someone I kno äw.

I see different colours out of each eye - warmer tones out my right and cooler from my left

Yes! Doesn't everyone? 😝

This can be related to endometriosis! It was one of my early symptoms!

SourDoe · 18/03/2023 18:17

When something scares me I get stabbing pains in my feet and hands.

OhPea · 18/03/2023 18:17

When I’ve mentioned it to others I get “wtf?” looks

jenkel · 18/03/2023 18:20

I can’t close one eye independently of the other, and my mum has the same issue on the same eye.

if i go to a really posh restaurant after eating the meal I get really bad sniffy snotty nose and struggle to breath through nose. It’s obviously an allergy of some description but I just cant figure out what causes it, It’s not hot spicy food because I can have a hot Indian takeaway at home and no reaction. It is literally just in really posh restaurants.

yeahwhatev · 18/03/2023 18:22

Me too! Sweaty nose if I eat strong cheddar.. I’ve always thought must must be a v mild allergy

SourDoe · 18/03/2023 18:22

My DS has dermagraphia. You can write words on his skin by lightly running a fingernail across it, then the word appears as hives. A dr noticed it once and I was approached to give permission for him to be a subject for medical science studies. I’d forgotten about it until this thread. He’s a teenager so I’m looking forward to him telling me to fuck off in hives next time I ask him to do something 🤣

Cardamoney · 18/03/2023 18:22

If I cough a lot it sparks off a sneeze at the same time. It feels as if my brains are being blown out of my ears.
When going up in a plane, inside my ears itch like crazy at a certain altitude. Then it goes off.

Firecarrier · 18/03/2023 18:26

The first mouthful of alcohol often goes somewhere specific, sometimes legs - they will feel like lead, sometimes a specific spot in the middle of my forehead etc.

Im not allergic to any of the ingredients but buttercream birthday cakes make my mouth feel absolutely weird, the most incredibly intense tickling sensation on the roof of my mouth.

Most shop bought scones make me cringe afterwards as I have a vile feeling on tongue - bicarbonate?

I can click my lower back by doing pelvic floor exercises 😂

Knightman · 18/03/2023 18:29

Sounds potentially like
neuralgia - look it up

SourDoe · 18/03/2023 18:30

My other DS has a thing where he feels other peoples pain if they’re injured and he sees it. So if I had a cut on my hand he would experience the sensation in his hand if he looks at mine.

There’s a name for it, I can’t remember what it is.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 18/03/2023 18:41

I seem to have air trapped by my eyes. If I rub my eyes, the inner corners will squelch. Only in the evenings though!

My brother and sister are the same!

OnlyFannys · 17/03/2023 17:40

I can pop and unpop my ears (including doing just one or the other if I fancy it). I assumed everyone did this until very recently when my boyfriend said that no, that was weird. Would actually be interested to know if this is normal or just a weird "me" thing

I can do this, it's like I can flex a muscle inside my ears

Tinklake44 · 18/03/2023 18:51

Oh my gosh I get this it drives me insane I’ve tried everything to stop it x

Rhaenys · 18/03/2023 18:52

Before I knew what ASMR was, I’d have said that. Ever since I was a child whenever I’ve seen someone getting a massage or their arm stroked, in real life or on TV, then I get tingles as if I’m having it done too.

Xyyxxx · 18/03/2023 18:54

You what?

Shazzamma · 18/03/2023 18:56

Stiff neck - me too when I drink apple cider!!😂

Shazzamma · 18/03/2023 18:59

And knees clamp together if there's any blood/operations ont' telly, esp childbirth- related!!

Haribo16 · 18/03/2023 18:59

When I'm hungry my tummy rumbles but really really loudly. I got in trouble in a lecture theatre at school once because it was rumbling so loudly that everyone was laughing because they could hear it.

olbndanszombie · 18/03/2023 19:01

Not me, but when my friend needs to wee her teeth itch!
When I sneeze I fart every single time 🤬🤬

BeepDeep · 18/03/2023 19:04

When I carry a suitcase or heavy bag, the muscles above my top lip involuntarily contract and make me look like I'm sneering. I actually can't stop this happening however much I might want to. Can be awkward when lugging luggage up stairs etc in tube stations/ hotels etc - it really isn't a good look!
