Our tumble dryer packed up so me and hubs made a dash to the launderette stuck our clothes on 45 minutes, left thinking nothing really of it we went to do some shopping that took around 50 to find someone had removed all our washing from the tumble dryer?!!

What! We wernt running massively over time and this launderette is not overly even use, It wasn’t even fully dried could of done with maybe ten more minutes! The only thing I can think of is us using “the big tumble dryer” but would you seriously remove anyones clothes at the launderette?!??

Maybe it’s been a while for me but it wouldn’t really enter my mind to touch anyone else’s stuff!

Are you deliberately not listening?

My guess is yes.

I know you have now accepted that YABU (or "the asshole", as you keep saying - you do realise this is Mumsnet, not reddit?), but there are several very simple common courtesies when it comes to laundrettes:

  1. Never leave your washing (or drying) unattended.
  2. Leave the large washer and dryer for those who need to wash or dry large items, such as duvets - if you simply have a lot to wash or dry, use 2 (or more) machines.
  3. If you need to use a machine and it has finished it's cycle, but still has clothes in it, you must ask each person in the laundrette if it belongs to them, and if not, it is completely fine to remove the items from the machine and put them onto a clean surface.

Personally, I would prefer not to touch anyone else's clothes, but rather than sitting and waiting for goodness knows how long for someone to return from goodness knows where, I will do so. Your discomfort at having someone else touching your washing is not more important than someone else's time.

OP I think if your grammar had been a bit better here you would have had some more sympathetic responses.

MrsMikeDrop · 19/02/2023 03:20

Sorry, but it serves you right. Pretty rude leaving for longer and 'hogging' the machine so someone had to wait for you to come back. And how were they to know how long you would take

I don’t get how it was a nuisance when they had other options to dry there clothing? I didn’t leave them all out of options lol

Putting 'lol' at the end of your post doesn't make you any less of a CF

aonbharr · 19/02/2023 03:41

it is normal OP, but usually when I used laundrettes the staff would remove the clothing if u were a bit late and leave it in a trolley.

In hindsight I was unreasonable but it was after valentines I had my small in that wash so the wash it was more embarrassed I guess lol

Oh for fucks sake, how old are you? Embarrassed? Considering your user name this has to be a wind up.

Not one bit about grammar thanks I’m not claiming to choose to be a English teacher so it’s irrelevant.
