...the UK is becoming? The scenes in Liverpool were shocking and I fear this is just the beginning.

Brexit was immigration related so that can resurface in another form. And Corbyn was terrible and turned people off Labour.

It’s not like Labour aren’t going after the Brexit voter anyway, with Brexit statements already and rehashing same line.

Labour likely win due to damage of Tories, not really as they’re making great claims about services, besides services cost taxes so it’s not always a given people go for higher taxes.

Anyway we’ll see. No point in calling it now. If Labour win they’ll still have to find funding. If they were switching on Brexit in a big way I could see meaningful change but mostly it’s just same five points or whatever without much substance.

People betting at the bookies might be biggest change after all

@MarshaBradyo - fair enough. But I reckon I will be richer on day 1 of a Labour Government. This government is dying and the trajectory is terminal.

You will if you’ve bet on it. That’s fine nowt wrong with being happy you’re richer

I actually hope it’s better than I predict. One thing that will be a change is maybe all the I hate U.K. threads will be U.K. is the best. I’ll have to zone out from Starmer and co for five / whatever years (as find them unbearable) but silver linings re mood music - which is a term that makes me laugh

@JustForThisOneTime compared to where? Can you say what you consider to be ‘right wing’? I was under the impression it was clear nationalism, belief in death penalty, anti LGB rights, belief in demonstrative national identity, low taxes and a punitive attitude to crime or disorder.

But here it just seems to mean anything other than unquestioning agreement in line with opinions such as those of Owen Jones.

I outlined the definition of right wing earlier in the thread and you pretty much coveredit in your post @Cuppasoupmonster . It does not mean not in agreement with Owen Jones. That would be a wildly weird specification.

AFAIK most people disagree with the misogynist wee cunt.

By the way, it is made abundantly clear to anyone who arrives here that is they break laws they will be imprisoned and likely deported

Entering the UK without permission as an economic migrant is a crime, you understand that, right?

What is made "abundantly clear" by letting a criminal off the crime they are actively committing in front of you whilst "warning"
them not do any more and giving them things of monetary value?

It isn't what you seem to think.

Piggywaspushed · 24/02/2023 21:49

I can't follow your second sentence.

And am entirely dubious about your first.

I don't know at what point I was talking about economic migrants, whatever your definition of those may be.
