...the UK is becoming? The scenes in Liverpool were shocking and I fear this is just the beginning.

@Archibaldleach "Patriotic Alternative had organised a ‘banner drop’ outside the hotel a few days before, while Britain First posted how it had “previously visited” the site".

How are they far-right? Knowsley is one of the biggest Labour strongholds in the UK and most of the protestors were likely locals. Sure, there are bad eggs in every protest but most will be normal, working class people who are concerned for their daughters and have witnessed the inaction of politicians when it comes to protecting young vulnerable girls.

Grade A claptrap.

They leaflets and had SM campaigns. They're a far right group.

Nigel Farage announced that more "protests"Hmm would be happening outside Asylum hotels this weekend.

Anybody going to one?

That was a complete question dodge!
Your post doesn't make sense, either.
You realise "normal, working class people" can be far right too, right?!
Or in your head are you just imagining that they announce themselves by sporting some kind of stereotypical look of shaved heads and steel toe caps?! 😕

They leaflets and had SM campaigns. They're a far right group.

We don’t see eye to eye on the causes or the solutions.

However, the problem on MN is that most people do not see these leaflets coming through THEIR doors. They are vile and full of hatred and racism, and they are designed to push all the right buttons for those in our society who are already living in depravation and in fear of losing control of what scraps of a life they have managed to build for themselves. They do not have the time to think rationally about what they read in a leaflet inside their door in amongst the fliers and latest food prices from whichever shop.

Our MN readership of intelligent parents with the spare time to post and respond online are not who is receiving these leaflets. And until they get one through their door, and read it, and realise that the person who believes all the hateful racist shit on the leaflet has walked along their street, come onto their property and pushed one through their door... Until it occurs to them that there are groups of these young men meeting in one another’s houses, in Their communities... They will continue to apologise and justify the racism on MN.

Yes, you hated the way I worded my first post, and disliked the way I framed the dynamic of these people manipulating a community. But the problem here is not a ‘right wing’ thing per se. It is a societal issue and without the poverty, the hatred of their culture our communities cling to from the left, the financial and military destruction we reap on foreign soil, the financial incentives we offer, the basket case of an administration system in our own country, and the misogamy spewed on social media to our young boys, none of this would be happening.

ElliF · 17/02/2023 15:22

I didn’t say, but I receive these fliers through my door. They are disgusting.

It's highly unlikely that every single person protesting anywhere would belong to these extremist groups (left or right)

Also, can we keep some perspective? Not everyone identifying the problems that uncontrolled immigration has created in the UK and in many other countries around the world would agree with the wording of those leaflets (I haven't seen any, so I don't know).

Bit confused by your last paragraph:

It is a societal issue and without the poverty, the hatred of their culture our communities cling to from the left

As you know I was appalled by your now-deleted post, but actually broadly agree with a lot of your comments in that post.

No one here has made a claim that everyone rioting is a member of and extremist group. Dumb people are like sheep. They get herded and controlled by instigating parties. Crowd mentality is known and predictable and it has been studied for decades. What we are saying is that instigating parties are right wing extremists, and that is indisputable.

And regarding the leaflets (which you have never seen) you are right. They are designed and worded in order to instil fear in those with limited abilities to reason, distinguish between relative and irrelevant information, and analyse. I am sure it It we’re ever to get to court it could be demonstrated that everything stated in the leaflets I receive is either a probable fact or on the balance of probability a reasonable prediction of a possible outcome.

But the intent of the communication is clear. The intent is to raise the cortisol levels in society and sow fear and division in our communities. We all get to choose what we believe and what we do not, and we all get to choose whether we want to help society heal or pull it apart. It is clear from their published documents and their actions that their intent is to pull society apart. And that is the problem for me.

I do not care whether someone is left or right wing. It is irrelevant to my life. I only care whether someone is good or evil.

Yeah I get it. I tried to explain what was happening, what the mechanisms were, and why. But I did it with sarcastic flippancy and hyperbole, and I didn’t read the room. I didn’t realise that my response would be read as ‘my beliefs’, and that was damned ignorant of me, for which I apologise unreservedly.

I’m glad maybe you don’t think I’m a racist bitch anymore. 💐

2ManyPjs · 17/02/2023 16:06

@ElliF I never called you a "racist bitch" but was gobsmacked at the highly charged and yes, "racist", language you were using. But I take your point and do genuinely think you're well-meaning.

2ManyPjs · 17/02/2023 16:11

@ElliF And this I definitely agree with and sadly it comes from the left - albeit more disguised - as much as the right, and so like you say left-wing or right-wing becomes meaningless.

But the intent of the communication is clear. The intent is to raise the cortisol levels in society and sow fear and division in our communities.

No. Maybe I was projecting.
I have had the opportunity to live for a good while in some of the most amazing societies in the world, and this one has to be one of the most unsafe and divisive of them.

ElliF · 17/02/2023 16:15

Projecting as in reading what I would think of me posting my post.
Not projecting onto you.

Why does the left absolutely hate white, working class girls and think they have no right to expect to have dignity and be kept safe from predatory men? Why are they always the first to be sacrificed on the alter of middle class politics?

They don't.
HTHHmm

I used to be a working class white girl. I am now a working class, white, middle aged, menopausal, left wing, feminist woman. I live in a 2bed council house in the inner city. My area has been classed as "deprived" for many decades. I live close to an Asylum hotel.

The fucking last thing my community needs is a bunch of violent fascists stirring shit and wrecking the place.Angry

And no one is being fucking sacrificed.Hmm

There should be absolute zero tolerance of migrants committing crimes. They break the law, they're gone, there and then. And yes, I would expect other countries to do the same with British people who go overseas and commit crimes.

Right wing groups out today

twitter.com/lewis_goodall/status/1626947925774303232?t=NIDvfebGX1ZgpGEirXuLkQ&s=19

Huge police presence on outskirts of Rotherham for far right protest and counter protest outside outside a Holiday Inn Express housing asylum seekers. We understand it’s one of five such far right events organised for this weekend.

twitter.com/lewis_goodall/status/1626989376310845442?t=NIDvfebGX1ZgpGEirXuLkQ&s=19

Endless talk of “invasion” and “invaders” at the far-right rally.

Piggywaspushed · 18/02/2023 17:26

And quite a lot of them are the same 'concerned locals' who were out and about in Knowsley.

MarshaBradyo · 18/02/2023 17:28

I’m wondering if they’d appreciate the posting on here. They’d be small fry but getting their views out there are what they are after presumably.

DuncinToffee · 18/02/2023 17:34

You think they might be recruiting on here?

They need calling out and the slogans they use need calling out as they are repeating phrases used by Braverman and others.

MarshaBradyo · 18/02/2023 17:38

I didn’t mention recruiting specifically but any protest is to get attention for whatever.

I mean people can link away as they wish but it’s more viewing and I doubt it’ll bother anyone who is after numbers.

DuncinToffee · 18/02/2023 17:41

I don't really understand what you mean with viewing numbers but imo ignoring them is far more dangerous.
