Share with me your favourite basic comfort foods for no reason other than I just ate some crackers with butter and was struck by how delicious it was. I'm thinking say 3-4 ingredients max.

I'll start with:

White toast, salted butter
In similar vein, Jacobs cracker with salted butter
Jacket potato, salted butter
Crumpet, nutella
Toast, butter, baked beans

Risotto. It's freezing here and I didn't want to spend ages cooking but wanted something filling and comforting. You can put anything in risotto.

Cheese and onion toasties

Sausage sandwich

ferretface · 02/02/2023 17:32

Definitely toasties, especially if made with a breville type thing that seals the edges...I like cheese and tomato as well as cheese and onion, although you have to be careful when eating as the tomato tends to be hotter than the earth's core
