Super simple/basic comfort foods

Share with me your favourite basic comfort foods for no reason other than I just ate some crackers with butter and was struck by how delicious it was. I'm thinking say 3-4 ingredients max.

I'll start with:

White toast, salted butter
In similar vein, Jacobs cracker with salted butter
Jacket potato, salted butter
Crumpet, nutella
Toast, butter, baked beans

Dark chocolate digestives. 😋😋😋

Crusty rolls with butter
Cheese and tomato toastie
crumpets with butter
part baked rolls filled with cheese and red onion or cheese and pickle.
bagel with cream cheese and bacon
tomato soup and white bread
croissant filled with nutella
cauliflower cheese
crispy bacon roll and tomato sauce

and banana & custard

White bread, thick salted butter, hot sliced hardboiled egg, sliced tomato, salt, white pepper sandwich

Heinz Cream of Tomato soup, Ham sandwich made with white bread and salted butter

Bacon, fried egg roll with brown sauce

Toast and marmite with lots of butter

Scrambled egg on hot buttered toast

Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel

DH homemade Leek and potato soup

Best comfort food ever. Boiled egg mash potatoes covered in cheese sauce.

Chicken, mashed potato and peas.

Pasta, pancetta/bacon/salami (something cured and porky, in other words), peas and cream cheese.

Fried peppers and onions, cured porky product optional on thick slice of bread.

Thick slice of bread, seasalt, olive oil, ricotta and a basil leaf.

Fried eggs on waffles.

Mushroom and mozzarella toastie.

Cheese and mushroom omelette with coriander.

Okay slightly over the ingredients number but a fish finger sandwich
white bread (cheap!) butter, fish fingers, cheese (cheap plastic cheese slices!) and sweet chill sauce 🤤 😋

Mmm that sounds good @Thighdentitycrisis it's more ingredients than we're allowed here, but I also love a vegetarian version of lemon chicken and tomato rice bake using brown rice, stock, cherry tomatoes, onion garlic and peppers baked in the oven and adding halloumi or tofu marinated in oil,herbs, lemon juice and zestat the halfway point.

I love so many of these, but they are all better with cheese. Well, almost all. Maybe not the banana custard or the crumpets and Nutella.

Wholegrain mustard & butter mash
Any kind of pie - sweet or savoury!

@MrsGhandi with you on that one but only had the M&S one on buttered toast - used to have as a kid. Will check out Sainsbury’s (might be cheaper!)

Mashed banana on hot buttered toast.

Toasted soda with poached egg and cheese.

Carrs cheese melts, with grated cheese on top. For added comfort microwave for 15 seconds to melt the cheese.

I can eat a whole box this way.

Scrambled egg on toasr

Sat am bacon and fried egg sandwich. Makes me happy inside every time

Pasta with butter salt and pepper

Chicken supernoodles

Boiled egg and butter toasted soldiers with salt and pepper

Yesterdays roast veg with butter salt and pepper and grated cheese.

Jacob's cracker with butter and marmite

Garlic bread with scrambled eggs on top 👌
