Super simple/basic comfort foods

Share with me your favourite basic comfort foods for no reason other than I just ate some crackers with butter and was struck by how delicious it was. I'm thinking say 3-4 ingredients max.

I'll start with:

White toast, salted butter
In similar vein, Jacobs cracker with salted butter
Jacket potato, salted butter
Crumpet, nutella
Toast, butter, baked beans

Vanilla ice cream with a raspberry yoghurt poured over. The yoghurt freezes in a sweet layer where it touches the ice cream. Delicious!

Rich tea sandwiched with butter and jam

Sausage mash and beans. Frozen mash is a game changer. 5 mins in the microwave and ping! It’s as good as home made…

Cream of tomato soup with loads of bread is my number 1 comfort food.

This is what I came to say! Also smoked bacon lardons or chicken pieces and mayo mixed with pasta, and aromat seasoning grated cheese on top 👌

Fresh baguette, cream cheese marmite - heaven.
An apple and a lump of Cheddar
Stilton on an oat cake with a pear
Good panettone with an espresso coffee

I recently put my poached egg on a (buttered, of course) crumpet as we had no bread. Game changer.

Crumpets with peanut butter and banana
Apple slices with biscoff paste
Pasta with tinned tuna and melted cheese

A proper crispy topped Scottish morning roll with butter and crisps. Or chips.

Pasta, butter with a couple of anchovies melted into it, chilli flakes, salt,

Hot cross buns & Welsh cakes with butter on👌

Pasta, butter and salt.

I have found my people! This thread is so deliciously full of beige.

I can echo :
Crumpets and stilton (obviously a bit of butter on the crumpet for good measure)
Rice, cheese and cracked black pepper
And pasta, garlic, butter and cheese

Cheese should all be finely grated and served generously.

Heaven.

Souper-mash.
As in, a pile of mashed potato, with soup poured over it.

Pasta. Campbell condensed chicken soup.

Cup of Yorkshire Tea and a box of few Ferrero Rochers.

Mashed potato, maybe with sausages and beans alongside.

Spaghetti with butter, black pepper and a mountain of parmesan.

A crumpet with butter and marmite.

When the bread is really fresh, a peanut butter sandwich.

Egg fried rice with spring onion and loads of Kikkoman soy sauce.

LOVE this!

Also mashed potato on toast.

Barbecued sardines.

Barbecued prawns with garlic butter.

Spaghetti hoops on toast

Potato waffle sandwich.

Don't judge me.

A nice slice of fruit cake
Tinned pears with ice cream
A tomato sandwich on buttered white bread
Ditto corned beef sandwich and a cup of tea
Chips, eggs and butchers sausages

Basically I have the palate of my grandmother who was born in the 1920s

Porridge!! Can’t believe no one else has mentioned it! Hot creamy porridge oats, a hug in a bowl.

@LindorDoubleChoc on toast with butter? Or pasta….basically where’s the carb?

baguette with Brie and coleslaw. Crunch, comforting fat and tang.

a proper bacon crusty roll.

soft white bap, toast upper side under grill, put cheese in, grill then eat.

Oh, a packet of cheap noodles (Koka are best) with a spoonful of chilli purée or lazy chilli chucked in.
