Just watching it on tv.

It was my favourite year..I was 16 and having the time of my life…Brit pop, house music, clubs, boys, alcohol & cigarettes…and the rest

I miss it and me then..tiny waist, smooth skin, a bit of attitude and energy and a lust for life 😫

What were you doing in 1994?

I was 7 turning 8.
We went to Florida for the first time. Lion king came out.
that’s the extent of my memories from that year.

Olblueeyes · 26/01/2023 02:06

My parents moved us abroad, it was a difficult time. I was 13…

Soakitup37 · 26/01/2023 02:15

10, my whole childhood seems a blur unless I break it down into music and events of the year but I was on the cusp of secondary school and look back with rose tinted glasses of that time I suspect!

Madmax1992 · 26/01/2023 05:12

I was 1/2 and it was the year my brother was born x

goodmorningsunny · 26/01/2023 05:12

I was being 24. I was living in Liverpool ( not my home town) and training to be an accountant. It wasn’t really a great time for me, I was struggling socially and whilst I was good at my job, I wasn’t getting any recognition. I started to enjoy life more once I moved to London, in 1995.

AWaferThinMint · 26/01/2023 06:01

I was 12/13. My parents had just divorced and lived separately so I was shuttling about a lot. I discovered grunge, and going out in town with my pals. '94 was the start of me growing up.

I was 15 and doing exactly what you were. 1994-1996 was awesome for me.

1994 was the year my earliest memories start. I was 3.

I went to nursery 5 days a week and hated being away from my mom. But every morning before we got ready, she'd plonk me on the kitchen counter and give me a bottle of weak tea. She'd hug me the whole time I was drinking it and I'd play with her hair with my one spare hand. I just remember feeling so safe and loved.

pinkchampagne1 · 26/01/2023 07:38

I was 21 in 1994, was going out with a total loser and started a new job as a TA in a primary school. I had the best time at that school. 😊

Iwantabloodypizza · 26/01/2023 07:42

I was 14, being bullied to fuck at school as I always had been, and no one cared. Teachers/parent. It was all my fault apparently, I wasn’t a nice person so that’s why the other children hated me.

I overdosed in my room April 1994, I woke up in agony 24 hours later and was called an attention seeker. My dad called the GP after I begged him to help me, who came to the house and shouted at me, called me an attention seeker too and didn’t believe me said I was just trying to get time off school. I puked blood for 3 days. No one believed me, my dad said it was fake blood because the dr said I was attention seeking. I’m not sure how I am still here, unscathed at 43.

So yeah, 1994, not my best year.

DublinFemale · 26/01/2023 07:48

I was homeless and pregnant but I did have my fantastic DC.

The worst year but also the best year of my life.

DottieUncBab · 26/01/2023 07:53

I was a one year old!

Livity · 26/01/2023 08:03

I was 17 and pretending to study for A Levels at college, but actually smoking a lot of weed, raving to jungle and being a complete delinquent. Fun times, but not as fun as the late 90s when I had money and options!

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 26/01/2023 08:11

I was 4. I got my rabbit, flower. He was an amazing rabbit. I can still remember his smell.

TheGuv1982 · 26/01/2023 08:21

Hmmm Year 7 for me, so non of the good stuff like booze and fags and I absolutely hated the first 2 years of secondary school.

Music wise I think I spent most of that year playing “Music for the Jilted Generation” - Prodigy. Although I could have the release year wrong.

TV was good back then, X-Files sticks out.

Games were played on the Amiga, and there was a roaring trade in copied floppy disks at school.

howdyhey · 26/01/2023 09:19

I was 10. I excelled in school despite giggling with my friends throughout most of my lessons. My weekends were spent horse riding, doing gymnastics, reading books about horses and playing out with friends. Saturday night tv was great and I would watch Keeping up Appearances on Sunday evenings. I loved my flute and played in the school orchestra. Everyone in my class seemed happy and healthy. We had two holidays and I didn't care what I looked like. I'm sure the world had problems but I didn't know much about them. If you asked me to pinpoint a time in my life when I was truly happy, it was 1994.

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 26/01/2023 09:34

I was being 4. Being 4 was GREAT.

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 26/01/2023 09:36

Bloody hell @Iwantabloodypizza - you were failed comprehensively. Doesn't matter if you weren't "a nice person," you were a child crying out for help. I so, so hope your life is happier now.
