Just watching it on tv.

It was my favourite year..I was 16 and having the time of my life…Brit pop, house music, clubs, boys, alcohol & cigarettes…and the rest

I miss it and me then..tiny waist, smooth skin, a bit of attitude and energy and a lust for life 😫

What were you doing in 1994?

I was knee deep in small children and going quietly insane with a partner out of the country 9 months of the year and no support network.

Allywill · 25/01/2023 22:28

Got married in the April and although that was great (still married with grown up kids now) my best year was 1984 when I was 17.

TrishM80 · 25/01/2023 22:29

1994 was when Oasis burst onto the scene I think.

Claysta · 25/01/2023 22:29

Aged 23, living at home with my parents, working in London and having the best time. Happy times !

Ruffpuff · 25/01/2023 22:29

I was 16 in 2013-2015, so I can’t relate sadly. I had a similar experience with shitter music and less freedom.

Backpacking around Australia with my best friend, it was the best year of my life!

Me too with my cousin. We met two girls who were best friends in one of the hostels in Byron Bay. . You weren’t nurses then were you? 😁

Workinghardeveryday · 25/01/2023 22:32

14, raving, alcohol, cigarettes, taping top 10 on a Sunday. Hating school, hating my brother who beat me up daily with his steel toe cap boots and took any money I had for lunch. Bullied because I had big boobs and got a kicking most days at school for it. Being lonely because I woke up alone, came home from school and was alone until I went to bed. Cooking my own meals. Neighbours, home and away, blossom, fresh prince, casualty and wheel of fortune.

Turquoisesea · 25/01/2023 22:32

@liverpoolgal82 no we weren’t but we did go to Byron Bay (and got kicked out of a hostel there for smoking a joint at midnight!).

sproutsandparsnips · 25/01/2023 22:33

In my first year at university doing nursing degree. Didn't know what music I wanted to listen or what alcohol I wanted to drink. No such problems now.......

Logicalreasoning · 25/01/2023 22:33

I was 6, can’t really remember much from that year, not a lot going on I suppose. I mean ER and friends started that year 😁

AnotherNameChanges · 25/01/2023 22:33

1994!! I have mixed feelings! Life was pretty rubbish for me at that time, but there were some ups! Hanging out in the park drinking strongbow and diamond white! Listening to the levellers, oasis, pulp, pearl jam! And wearing my DM boots!!

AnotherNameChanges · 25/01/2023 22:35

Oh yes!! Neighbours and home and away! How could I forget!! And making mix cassette tapes for my friends and secret crushes!!

Elderflower14 · 25/01/2023 22:36

Not a happy year for me.. Lost ds1 at two hours old three days before Christmas... 😔 😢 😢 😢 😔

Sodullincomparison · 25/01/2023 22:37

I was 16 too!! The best summer 💜💜💜💜

mackerelskymackerelsky · 25/01/2023 22:41

I was 5. Playing with my Sylvanian Families and Polly Pockets, collecting scented rubbers (does anyone remember the pens where you swapped the rubbers over? I had a glittery one), watching CITV after school.
If I could turn the clock back I'd go back again in a heart beat.

Jackieweaverslobsterphone · 25/01/2023 22:42

I was 24, working at a merchant bank but all my other time spent raving in various clubs in the north west. Living with my guy friend and had just met my future partner and dad to my first born 2 years later. The relationship ended up failing in 2005. But am still best friends with the guy i was renting with. Best times of my life. Other than my kids.

BeReet · 25/01/2023 22:42

@Elderflower14 how awful, I am so sorry for your loss 💐

I was 20 in 1994, at uni, out clubbing with my boyfriend (now husband) having a fantastic time. I look back on the 90s with great fondness as it was a total blast. I wish I was that thin and full of life these days 🤣

userxx · 25/01/2023 22:43

I was 19 and loving life, it was one huge adventure. God, I'd give anything to have just 10% of the energy I used to have. Feel past my best now 😞

MrsCarson · 25/01/2023 22:43

I had my second son. Things were a bit tight but life was good. oldest one was just in school, and we got some day old chicks, Ds was in love, they lived under a light in the garage, then we built a coop and had to figure out a million recipes using eggs.
