Teacher vaping in car

I collected my child earlier from school as they had a medical appointment and as I walked back to the car I noticed my child’s piano teacher vaping in her car. There was no one else about but would this bother you?

OP, vaping is dangerous and I’d certainly never do it myself but it is no one else’s business really if this woman is doing it in what is basically privacy.

Hmmmn so maybe I do remember this then!!!!! In the 90s that is. It's such a vague memory but I can smell it mixed with coffee in my earliest school memories

Ah for the good old days when the staff room was full of a blue nicotine-y fug and you could smell the fags and own-brand nescafe 30 foot away...

In all seriousness this is the policy everywhere I’ve worked, and most teachers I know who smoke go to great lengths to make sure they aren’t seen by pupils. And LOTS of them smoke, not just a few. However, if OP does grass the teacher up, all they’ll do is walk outside the school premises to vape on the pavement.

OK when I was a young teacher I smoked in the staff room, and what is more on Friday lunchtimes we used to go to the pub over the road.

And we used to pass packets of polos to each other in assembly. A three polo assembly was a good assembly.

I imagine it was still the same in the 90’s too !

I had a teacher in primary who let the best behaved child that morning light her cigarette at lunchtime. With a match!

she was a great teacher. All the kids loved her, and worked really hard for her.

Her life her choice, not mine, but thankfully we live in a free country so she can do as she likes within the law.

Maybe you should have changed your title to " Teacher who is an adult was living her life away from children and I saw that and spotted her vaping out of hours in her own time and in her own car hours -vaping - and I don't like it bc I m a control freak"

I seem to remember many years ago we had a teacher who would sit in her car in the staff car park and smoke during lunch.

It was against school policy to smoke on the premises so she had to stop.

I hope you have already reported to Ofsted. How disgusting. How dare a human being do a human thing. When we all know teachers live in the cupboard in the classroom and aren’t allowed out after school or at weekends.

My old French teacher was usually three sheets to the wind by 11am, he had a hip flask he kept in his teacher's briefcase that he used to swig from throughout lessons. Those were the days.

I saw a teacher eating a sandwich. Bread has yeast in it which is also used to brew beer! Clearly they are well on the road to alcoholism!
