Teacher vaping in car

KittiKati · 25/01/2023 20:36

I collected my child earlier from school as they had a medical appointment and as I walked back to the car I noticed my child’s piano teacher vaping in her car. There was no one else about but would this bother you?

When I was in secondary school in the 90s one of the deputy heads used to 'secretly' smoke in his office. Everyone knew he did it. I have managed to cope through life with such a an awful example. (The German teacher who slept with my 17 year old sister was a worse example)

Luredbyapomegranate · 25/01/2023 21:03

Of course not. Weird qu.

londonrach · 25/01/2023 21:03

No. Did you have a class of wine in last year and have a piece of chocolate......what if another mum reported you for that!!!!!

Oh my good god a teacher vaping
We're going to hell on a handcart you should immediately report the school to Ofsted and get the guilty teacher hung drawn and quartered
I mean what next a cup of tea in the staff room or sacrificing a goat and a chicken
Op get a grip

I know you are joking but I’ve seen a teacher drinking coffee every single morning. Caffeine is a stimulant and it’s just not appropriate to use mind altering substances around children. They are very easily influenced and it’s a drug, isn’t it? The side effects are really dangerous - it can increase the heart rate. I even see the teacher drinking coffee throughout the day, it’s not just one per day it’s multiple cups, every day.

The teacher is me.

Is vaping not serious then like smoking?

"serious" as in what? Why does this even concern you? You act ike she was shooting up heroin. 🙄

of course teachers are allowed a social life and it’s legal but it was during the school day and on school premises so I didn’t think it was appropriate

Would standing in the street outside the school gates be a better place to have a fag.

Why would anyone have a problem with a teacher having a smoke break of any kind in their own car? Other employees get to take smoke breaks why not teachers? It is just a job - not some sort of moral upholding.

Well, I know you're being facetious, but what about a can of coke running late down the road every morning? It's sending the message to children that it's okay to have poor time-keeping and use stimulants to compensate!

And don't forget -- tea is nearly as bad! (Addict here)

I think you might be my neighbour. This is also me. It was Diet Coke, wasn’t it? None of the natural sugar, gimme all the carcinogens.

Yes but nobody seems to want to acknowledge it yet. Inhaling artificial crap into your lungs whether tobacco or vape juice is not good for them. E-cigarettes have barely been around for 20 years so we don't have the data to show the long term effect of vaping but early indications suggest it could be as carcinogenic as smoking cigarettes.

Even if she was smoking there’s no issue here.

Tea is a gateway drug. It’s only a matter of time before your hitting the lattes, and then your on a downward spiral of depravity. Have you considered seeking professional help? It’s really not fair that you are putting children at risk like this.

NerrSnerr · 25/01/2023 21:10

@Jourdain11 those poor children, destined to Coca Cola addicted who are late to school every day. I'd call the council and report him.

Everything is dangerous. Are we going to start snitching on fat teachers who eat donuts now too? (Newsflash: I’m a fat teacher who eats donuts, so I really want to know if I need to start hiding my donuts in brown paper bags and sneakily taking a bite when I’m sure I’m not being watched)

I know where he lives, too. He's my husband.

dapsnotplimsolls · 25/01/2023 21:11

Depends on the school policy. At our place, teachers have to leave the premises to smoke (and, I assume, vape).

Won't anyone think of the children 😭😭😭

😂😂😂😂😂😂 this properly made me laugh

britneybitch23 · 25/01/2023 21:11

I'm sure teachers were allowed to smoke in the staff room when I was young.... might be making that up? I went to infants/primary in the 90s

FanFckingTastic · 25/01/2023 21:12

OP I suggest that you look to homeschool straight away so that your little one isn't set a bad example.

SLS500 · 25/01/2023 21:12

I see your point that it's a teacher and they're there to set an example. And vaping isn't something you'd want your child to do. However, if the teacher is in the car on a break, children are in class and they looked upset I'd probably not worry about it.

children are exposed to lots of bad examples it doesn't mean they'll necessarily copy. It's up to parents to make sure children know what's right and wrong.

Nope, not you - this one is my husband! It is diet coke though.

EtonMessy · 25/01/2023 21:12

You’d have been horrified with a teachers staff room in the 70’s and 80’s. Door would open and so much smoke would billow out you’d have thought the room was on fire !!

viques · 25/01/2023 21:12

I am so pleased that when I was a young teacher I couldn’t afford a car so lived in the class home corner away from the temptations of real life.

WandaWonder · 25/01/2023 21:12

I hope no one catches a teacher reading a book, what is the world coming too?

Having a child myself not sure why they dont have a bar in the staffroom, they deserve one 🙂
