The co ap cat. Aubi to complain

At my local co-op in the village where I live half of the time that I go in I go in there is a random cat walking around the aisles.
I have asked staff about this before but All they have really said is that it is the local cat and it is always in and out of the few little shops there.

I am definitely not a cat lover and I don't really like the thought of the cat walking around the food shop.
Aubi to complain or should I just let it go and drive further out to a different store if it bothers me.

I would make a lot of extra visits to a shop with a cat. It's beautiful!

Me too. Maybe there's a gap in the market, 🤔

Puzzledandpissedoff · 14/01/2023 16:28

There is uncovered fruit in store yes

It won't be interested in fruit, but if it's one of those Co-Ops who sell warmed meaty pastries at lunch I guarantee it'll be up on the shelf after those

I'm very fond of cats and am completely stupid over my two, but even I wouldn't like that - though as PPs have said, good luck if they're trying to keep it out!!

Glittertwins · 14/01/2023 16:29

DH used to have an office cat. Both cat and staff were quite happy

sunglassesonthetable · 14/01/2023 16:34

Dear me. What a fuss over nothing.
Most germs in that Coop are not from the cat.

Much more to do with all the people traipsing in and out with goodness knows what on their shoes, breathing and sniffing and touching everything. That's a shop for you.

Tinktravels · 14/01/2023 14:42

@TwoMonthsOff no it's not but sounds like there's another co op cat about in merely?

We have a Morrisons cat around here.

50 thousand hands have touched your open produce. And 10 billion insects had a wee on your lettuce.dont worry .

Nothing. Obviously. It was more a literacy thing.

Well that's a rather catty comment...

Our town has a hospital cat. To be fair he doesn't go inside the main hospital but he hangs out in the entrance and chills on the bonnet of the ambulances. A coop cat wouldn't bother me at all

Sparklingbrook · 14/01/2023 16:45

You're thinking of dogs @CuntyChopss and there's men on here too.

Tamarindtree · 14/01/2023 16:45

Cat will be cleaner than most small children.

Is it to do with the disaster of a thread title?

rubydoobydoo · 14/01/2023 16:47

Our co-op cat has his own Facebook page!

Tinktravels · 14/01/2023 16:48

@Sparklingbrook I never noticed co ap until now 🤣

Grin or 'aubi'? We knew what you meant, and no idea why anyone was ASing you for troll hunting purposes.

IAmMeThisIsI · 14/01/2023 16:52

That's what Co-op stands for, didn't you know? "Cats on our premises". Lol.

ilovesooty · 14/01/2023 16:53

We've got a local Co op cat too. She lives nearby and divides her time between the Co op and Lidl on the other side of the road. I always worry that she might get run over.

Tinktravels · 14/01/2023 16:54

@Sparklingbrook oh nope I didn't notice that either until you said! I also never proof read anything which I should probably start doing as when texting I always speak into my phone and let it type for me, and it always gets things wrong!

It's probably a security employee disguised as a cat.

Tinktravels · 14/01/2023 15:12

Fully accepted Iabu then with these replies 🤣 I'm just a clean freak I suppose I'll go elsewhere from now on

@Tinktravels

claiming to be a clean freak, rather implies that those of us thst wouldn't mind, aren't hygienic.

id be happy to see the cat wandering around. It's nothing bathing amongst the freshly baked rolls.

it's very clear you've never been in a supermarket warehouse & it's best for your MH that it stays that way.

one small bit of advice, never drink directly from a can/bottle if not plastic wrapped and even then...

SmudgeButt · 14/01/2023 16:55

I went to my local Lidl and there was a cat sitting on top of the trolleys outside. I like cats so started to talk to it (as you do....) and petted it and noticed it had a collar and tag. So checked the tag to get it's name and the tag just said "I like Lidl" and then a phone number. Apparently it actually lives across the road but likes to hang out to get extra attention when it's person isn't at home. Lovely!!

Elderflower14 · 14/01/2023 16:56

We used to have a cat in the Co op I work at. It lived next door. ... Bloody thing used to go to sleep on the bottom magazine rack and then wake up in the night and wander around and set the burglar alarm off....!!

PinkSnowAndStars · 14/01/2023 16:56

My local hospital has one too. He likes to chill in A&E 🤣 He’s got his own Facebook page.

I tried chasing him out 3 times one night. Gave up, and he slept under a radiator and keep looking up and giving me a smug glance 🙄
