The co ap cat. Aubi to complain

At my local co-op in the village where I live half of the time that I go in I go in there is a random cat walking around the aisles.
I have asked staff about this before but All they have really said is that it is the local cat and it is always in and out of the few little shops there.

I am definitely not a cat lover and I don't really like the thought of the cat walking around the food shop.
Aubi to complain or should I just let it go and drive further out to a different store if it bothers me.

@TwoMonthsOff no it's not but sounds like there's another co op cat about in merely?

This is so weird because my local co-op also has a cat in there most days.

And I'm not in Merely and it's also not the co-op in your OP either so that's at least 3 coops with feline tenants!

My local Co op has a ginger cat that wanders around.

So that's potentially 4 coop cats now

Has anyone seen the cat cafes in some towns ? Literally cafes where you can have a coffee and cake with loads of cats wandering round 🐈🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛

TwoMonthsOff · 14/01/2023 19:53

@shinynewapple22
we have one
pausecatcafe.co.uk/

it’s called ‘pause’ of course 🐱I’ve not been yet

shinynewapple22 · 14/01/2023 20:04

@TwoMonthsOff my son and his GF went there when we were on holiday recently .

TwoMonthsOff · 14/01/2023 20:05

@shinynewapple22
did they like it, just looked at the menu and it’s all vegetarian and very reasonable so I might take myself soon 🐱

If it bothers you that much, then go to a different store. What is harmful about a cat just wandering about in a shop? I can guarantee that it brings a smile to the faces of a lot of people.
A cluster of shops near me used to have a cat that would visit them all. When the cat died, there was a lovely tribute to him in one of the shops. Cat was known by at least 3 different names.

My cat is not allowed on the worktops, but doesn’t try to go on them anyway.
So it’s not normal. But the cat in the photo appears to be walking on the floor.

This.
Neither of my cats ever go on the worktop. They much prefer the floor.
Just as they prefer the Co op to Waitrose.

We have same in w. Midlands...he's a local legend.

mcmooberry · 14/01/2023 22:03

Our local Coop has a cat too, I assumed it was that one until I saw the picture.

Minikievs · 14/01/2023 22:11

To add to the OP, here is a picture of Ziggy (the cat in question) selling raffle tickets at the Coop 😻

There's a Sainsbury's near us that has a cat. Always like to see her, and there was quite a fuss last year when she disappeared for a bit. Turned out someone had 'rescued' her! Her home is near the store, but she just likes to hang out and meet people I think.

I think you may live near me! A beautiful tortie named Clover? She hasn't been back to the store since I don't think as her owners are a bit worried about letting her back out!

Yes, that's her. Beautiful girl! Not been there for a while as we get shopping delivered, but I keep an eye on the Facebook page.

Or America. Bodega (corner shop) cats are a whole thing there.

Absolutely. When I lived in NYC, my local corner store had a gorgeous ginger tom called Mango. He always appreciated a nice stroke, and did a fine job keeping the rodent population way down.
