The co ap cat. Aubi to complain

At my local co-op in the village where I live half of the time that I go in I go in there is a random cat walking around the aisles.
I have asked staff about this before but All they have really said is that it is the local cat and it is always in and out of the few little shops there.

I am definitely not a cat lover and I don't really like the thought of the cat walking around the food shop.
Aubi to complain or should I just let it go and drive further out to a different store if it bothers me.

Picture of the cat attached

I once saw a cat have a pee in a bag of potatoes in a local greengrocers. 😷

Gross. Do you not have an alternative shop, OP? I wouldn’t not like this at all.

Its normal for cat owners to allow their cats to walk on the worktops, etc so they won’t see this as a big deal.

Stop embarrassing yourself.

SnackQueen · 14/01/2023 18:03

This household gives the Co Op Cat two paws up for its commitment and dedication to keeping all the rats and mice away from the store.

magicthree · 14/01/2023 18:06

It wouldn't bother me in the slightest. As for the uncovered fruit and veg, people will have handled it, coughed and sneezed over it - far, far worse. I used to visit a cafe which had a cat wandering around and no-one appeared to be bothered by it. If you are so concerned just go elsewhere - I'm sure the cat provides more pleasure than outrage amongst shoppers.

I’m Team Co-op Cat!

Sux2buthen · 14/01/2023 18:22

Proud hater of cats here🙋🏻‍♀️
I wouldn't like it but I wouldn't do anything about it unless it came near me. I only make that weird hissy noise at then obviously but they tend to bugger off then

Is it to do with the disaster of a thread title?

Nah, I was naughty and ASed the OP because it sounded troll-like. But apparently they’re a supply teacher who said this in November: “Tbh I have never went to school or went to work on my birthday 🤣 and never will”

And I was a bit catty. But I really like animals and would enjoy finding a cat walking the aisles of the Co-op.

You won’t believe what they grow potatoes in, then… spoiler: it’s poo.

Wash your spuds, kids.

No. Wow. Do you really not see why I selected that random thing you posted? It’s nothing to do with your birthday…

And I know I shouldn’t be bringing literacy into it, I thought you might be on the wind up as the post was a bit…precious.

Nat6999 · 14/01/2023 18:41

My local Iceland has a cat sat in the window, he's a local celebrity called Picasso, everyone takes selfies with him.

Tinktravels · 14/01/2023 18:44

@BunchHarman well I be precious but some people have agreed, I know I'm in the minority but that's why I posted, to hear more opinions.

What do you think the cat is going to do to the food? Confused

I honestly couldn’t get worked up about this enough to raise it with anyone.

You’ve never owned a cat right. My last cat would chew through and packaging, especially raw chicken.

LittleMissPeggySue · 14/01/2023 18:46

You'd hate my local A&E then. There's a cat nearby who regularly visits. Something of a local celebrity.

No cat I’ve owned has ever done that.

Needmorelego · 14/01/2023 18:51

I'm not sure how to do links but all the cat lovers here should check out 'Cats with Jobs' on the Bored Panda website.

🤣🤣🤣

1 or 2…

SirCumference · 14/01/2023 18:53

That was in reply to @SeenAndNot

LadyOfTheCanyon · 14/01/2023 18:55

I love the fact that up and down the country - Nay, across the World, cats are just walking into places without a by your leave with a "Good day, Gentlemen" sort of attitude.

Cats are the very embodiment of 'when I am an old woman I shall wear purple"

TwoMonthsOff · 14/01/2023 18:57

Have you ever seen the Cats of Istanbul ?

BIahBIahBIah · 14/01/2023 18:58

Complain to head office. Very unsanitary.

twoandcooplease · 14/01/2023 19:03

We have a 'Tesco Cat' in our local
It's in the paper often
Owners live close by and the Tesco cat just wanders in and stare at the entry/exit all day and night. I think owners see if 3/7 nights as the Tesco is open v late

Yes, give CO-OP HQ a laugh. 😄

Mariposa26 · 14/01/2023 19:22

I would prefer a cat in there to the inevitable mice that will be in there unseen (from experience of working in a supermarket)
