To ask your thoughts on Andrew Tate?

I went out for dinner recently and all of my nephews aged between 13-26 had a lots of respect for him.

While I agree with a lot of what Andrew Tate says he then has to spoil things with his horrific views on certain topics and I'd go as far as to say some of his points make him dangerous to young men (it concerned me how my nephews really respect him)

What are your thoughts on Andrew Tate?? But also, why do so many respect him in this way when he is so dangerous? Or is it that most people clearly secretly feel this way too?!

He talks like a teenager and portrays everything a teenager desires, expensive, cars, clothes and birches 🤦‍♀️😑 he sounds about age 12, from a ghetto, teenager think he's funny! What you mean is he says things normal people don't say because he does not have normal views, only a brain still learning about the world would find his batshit crazy rhetoric funny, but you are
young and you are yet to learn this because you are still Learning. his quotes are bizarre for a man of his age! If you gave a teenager a million this man would be the outcome! Downright crazy and the money makes him a danger to society esp given a platform, far far from a role model!!!

I really do live in a cave. I had no idea who this cretin was until I saw his name on a thread title on here the other day. Did a bit of Googling /Twitter trawl. (Which is obviously what he craves too)

He seems like an absolute horror of a man, regardless of any alleged crime. I'd be in true despair if any of my kids/relatives admired him in any way.

Should he be guilty of his alleged crimes , hopefully the Romanian justice system can keep him quiet for sometime to come. He is everything that is wrong (and there are also many good things) about the Internet and certain parts of our society today.

Same situation here and you’ve summed it up perfectly. Bloody depressing.

But - maybe it’s a good thing that some of us are now aware of him. I’ll definitely be paying more attention to shit like this as my two unofficial godsons get older. I don’t want them to fall foul of some of the crap that’s out there.

Jessica Taylor said it was from his website which news reports say was taken down last Feb

Just read some guardian reports on him; he's taught his followers to bombard social media with pro tate clips and false info. He's using all of them, conspiracy theories etc for profit. Along side women for porn.

bozzabollix · 01/01/2023 09:33

I think he’s a completely amoral cunt. He’s no doubt saying the really horrible stuff for the clicks and therefore cash he makes. But in doing so he’s indoctrinating young vulnerable boys who will be making some horrible mistakes as a result, and it’ll be my daughters generation of women who suffer the consequences and that absolutely scares the shit out of me.

Just as well my 14yo son is intelligent enough to not be taken in, he thinks he’s a dickhead too, as a result he will actually be able to form a meaningful relationship with a woman, unlike the Tate fans who will only see women as blow up dolls.

I hope the Romanian authorities have enough evidence to lock up this arsehole for a long time.

As for social media companies, engagement shouldn’t be the way to measure content quality, because it’s giving so much money to hateful types who are a scourge on society.

I think one of the big problems here is the idea to many young people that fame and untold riches can be achieved through reality TV and through SM influencing and grifting.

There are some better SM influencer role models out there but not many as it is all so vapid.

In the 90s , girls were alarmingly keen to say they wanted to be glamour models, then there was a lull and then it moved on to reality TV stars and now SM influencers. Boys' role models used to be more 'real'- sports stars and political figures but now its muscle bound men pushing various quack treatments and right wing influencers. Hopefully this will all go full circle and they'll be back to revering Gandhi and MLK soon...

Brrrrrrrrrrrr · 02/01/2023 13:27

The altered reality young people are exposed to through social media is a big problem. They’re watching people through filters and highly edited snapshots where riches and all the trimmings are normal yet their life in the real world is completely alien in comparison.

You could argue the effect of Hollywood and TV before the internet was the same but none of that was accessible 24/7 on a device in our pockets. Teens today See the world though a screen without ever experiencing the reality. Mental health is going to be a bigger issue over the next decades.

pondsprite1 · 02/01/2023 15:09

I'm not surprised at all that a misogynistic monster like AT is popular. Sexism is still a major problem today. And it needs to be addressed above everything else, and focused on imo, because no country does well when its women are oppressed.
For whatever reason, when men get together without women around, chaos and corruption abound. Looking around the world, it's clear that poverty and mistreatment of women go hand in hand.

Mezmer · 08/01/2023 22:57

Saw him on GB News and not the brightest. He doesn’t look people in the eye so completely shifty. He’s got that American ego that’s difficult not to tune into. I asked DS 14 if he knew about him and apparently ‘all his friends’ follow him and that he is ‘more for their age than yours mum’. Oh dear.

BuzzButt · 22/01/2024 19:04

He's a twat

BuzzButt · 22/01/2024 19:05

Andrew Tate is a twat and needs stopping. Legally.
