Cocaine

We have come away for Christmas with our children and our parents.

Last night we had a meal in and sat around chatting and drinking.

Half way through the night DH went upstairs and did a line of coke.

I’m pissed off.

He thinks he’s done nothing wrong.

AIBU?

Seems a lot of coke rage on the last few pages.

HollyDollyChristmas · 23/12/2022 22:56

So how long is it before he’s not over the drug drive limit or have come down sufficiently to care for your children.
Said it before and I’ll say it again, tell his parents. Sod him.

You know that the line between legal and illegal is just a piece of paper that someone like Matt Hancock has signed? It's not a law of physics or the like

@ILoveeCakes With recreational drugs I think God did clearly tell us in the Bible what to do. It is not just a civil law.

Drugs are not allowed, as getting intoxicated/drunk is not allowed. But a bit of alcohol is ok.

Ex was like this. Yet no-one seems to want to acknowledge cannabis dependency. If you think some of the people on this thread are cocaine apologists, have you ever tried to talk to a weed head about their drug use? Load of self-satisfied shite about how it's 'only a plant' and 'far less damaging than alcohol' and 'cures loads of diseases'. But you are right, weed users are EXTREMELY unpleasant when deprived of it.

There are certain fungi that is dangerous to eat, and some berries and a million other natural things

'Only a plant' doesn't make sense to me (not aiming this at you)

Where do people think cocaine comes from anyway. Most drugs are plant based.

Ditto heroin - like other opiates - comes from poppy seeds.

Interesting bit of trivia, can you guess which former Top Gear presenter failed a drugs test?

Watch Gordon Ramsay’s documentary on how cocaine is made. So much harm and danger for all those involved and definitely not just a plant.

And Frank Sinatra said ‘Let It Snow’.

not sure how either commandment is particularly relevant.

Yes. I shall be making DS watch this when he’s a suitable age.
there are so many people posting here that they don’t see any harm in it. Typical selfishness of humans. People fail to see the consequences of their actions.

@wonderingpondering1 my birth mother took heroin when I was in utero hence my prematurity, but she didn't know she waa expecting (apparently...)

fatsocatso · 23/12/2022 15:07

The middle class, middle aged twats I know who are still prolific mdma/coke etc users are absolutely insistent that they expect their children to take drugs when they're older as it's part of growing up/experimenting etc and they are fine with it, and will just teach them to be 'careful'. I'm not sure how you can be careful when it's an unregulated industry and you can't be certain what's in the shit you're taking. Depressing really.

Yeah they say that but if it came to that, they'd change their minds.

fatsocatso · 24/12/2022 15:49

@Liz1tummypain I couldn't agree more. They don't mind the horrific county lines abuse of the thousands of kids up and down the country (let alone countries where it's being produced). But when it comes to their own little darlings, it'll be another story. The hypocrisy makes me so angry. I work with vulnerable kids and see how they are sucked in and destroyed in so many different ways.

Zedcarz · 25/12/2022 13:01

Did he go upstairs with friends and do it together or on his own?
Have you done it with him/ do you do it with him?
We're you offered?
if you had been offered would you have joined?
The scenario and company makes all the difference to the story and the outrage levels

YANBU. I know someone who’s in prison right now for carrying 6kg of coke, I bet he wished he hadn’t been doing it/dealing it.

antipodeancanary · 25/12/2022 21:46

Did he use cocaine when you married him? If he did you are both idiots. If he didn't, he is now an idiot and you will be one too if you haven't left him by the end of the week.
