Cocaine

We have come away for Christmas with our children and our parents.

Last night we had a meal in and sat around chatting and drinking.

Half way through the night DH went upstairs and did a line of coke.

I’m pissed off.

He thinks he’s done nothing wrong.

AIBU?

It’s because the majority on here are lower working class, and drug use is sadly prolific in some circles

🤣🤣It’s because there are wankers in all walks of life. There is a difference between overall numbers and percentages, though. Percentage-wise, the City of London and House of Commons are replete with high income wankers who use cocaine.

I am working class hen. I am aware of the financial constraints thanks.

You are severely classist on the other hand. And you need to shake your head.

Working class and an idiot, just who I was referring to.

Allthefoxes · 23/12/2022 19:25

You’re embarrassing yourself @BrookieButter 😂😂😂

Dinosaursandrainbows · 23/12/2022 19:44

Hey @BrookieButter, it’s me NoddyHolderrr (I’ve changed my name for other reasons). You know, the working class idiot? Let me just give you this statistic from the Office of National Statistics report from 2022:

However, there were higher proportions of powder cocaine use in the last year for adults living in households with incomes over £52,000 (3.4%) compared with adults in lower income households (£10,400 to £20,800 (1.9%), £20,800 to £31,200 (2.2%) and £31,200 to 41,600 (1.9%).

Or are you going to argue that £52,000 is LWC @BrookieButter? but please, let’s see all your evidence that disputes it, I mean, I am an idiot who doesn’t know what they’re talking about after all? Or is it possible that you ARE a classist wanker after all?

BadNomad · 23/12/2022 19:49

The statistics don't mean anything without knowing how many households are in each of those brackets.

But, again, it isn't about class. Income doesn't determine your class.

Oh I agree, but this is important because income was how that poster was defining class. So I’m throwing it right back.

Dinosaursandrainbows · 23/12/2022 19:55

This is from 2018, but a simple Google search will back up that that particular poster is the idiot she is accusing me of being.

Yeah, but that poster also thinks an income of £50k makes you lower working class. 😆 She's not from this planet.

MilkyYay · 23/12/2022 19:56

LWC is not under £30k. Plenty of households are under £20k

Eh? Minimum wage is over 19k a year full time so you can't really have two earners working and bringing in less than 20k!!

Not all households have two adults. Mine doesn’t.

Why are you assuming there are two earners in every household?

I know. It's hard to accept some people are just stupid/bigoted/ignorant and can't be swayed.

I am a midwife. I was in a pre discharge meeting a few years ago. The couple involved were both solicitors both coke users. Sat there like it was the most normal thing in the world not first baby other young children involved.

Bloody disgrace the pair of them. Wouldn't let them look after a goldfish.

Sunnytwobridges · 23/12/2022 20:28

I had a BF that was addicted to weed. He had to have his hit the minute he work up or he would get twitchy and hyper. He couldn't function if he didn't smoke it multiple times a day. It was very unattractive - I have no probs with weed but I do when someone can't function without it or uses it as a crutch/to cope. I definitely couldn't be with anyone that did cocaine or any other type of drugs, or drank alcohol excessively. I think I would be devastated if my DH did this, especially during a family dinner.

wonderingpondering1 · 23/12/2022 20:29

@Thedogscollar im really intrigued how you knew they were coke users. Like I said in a previous post I would never ever touch it around my children and we haven’t used it since having kids, but did on occasion in our 20’s. On the midwife booking in question when it said have you ever used drugs I always said ‘no’…as it had been years. Bad I know 🙈.

They told us plus her drug test was positive. No shame couldn't see the problem.. Best bit was social services said all OK as they had agreed not to use at the same time. I kid you not I nearly fell of my chair at that comment.

Ex was like this. Yet no-one seems to want to acknowledge cannabis dependency. If you think some of the people on this thread are cocaine apologists, have you ever tried to talk to a weed head about their drug use? Load of self-satisfied shite about how it's 'only a plant' and 'far less damaging than alcohol' and 'cures loads of diseases'. But you are right, weed users are EXTREMELY unpleasant when deprived of it.

Yes! That's exactly how my ex explained his addiction. So ridiculous.

wonderingpondering1 · 23/12/2022 21:07

@Thedogscollar eeekk can’t believe she took cocaine when she was pregnant!

maddy68 · 23/12/2022 21:12

Does him snorting a line affect him negativily or is it the same as you who has has a few drinks ?

I don't take drugs but most of my friends do. However I am probably the worst after drinking than they are after a line
I fail to get worked up about it.

TooBigForMyBoots · 23/12/2022 21:25

BrookieButter · 23/12/2022 16:30

Well it’s true, look at those supporting or defending coke use and then do a quick advanced search, it seems to be very accurate

How many posters did you Advance Search @BrookieButter? Do you often check out people's past posts to check their social class?

You would be amazed with the reasons I've heard for positive drug test.
