Not in a great position with my finances so trying to sell extra bits on vinted to make extra cash for Christmas.
Sold a brand new bottle of perfume and it was delivered on Tuesday.
She was online since then every hour or so and didn't confirm delivery.
A hour before I was due to get funds released she claims it hasn't arrived.
Yodel tracking shows delivered,I have proof of postage,I spoke to yodel customer service who have checked and the drivers sat nav have showed delivery to exact location.
I'm gutted -it's £40 I need
I'm worried vinted will refund her and she has my perfume.
I've forwarded all this to vinted but not hopeful

Buyer hasn't replied to any messages either

I'm really sorry this happened to you but I'm glad you posted. After Vinted's stupid response, I know never to use their app.

AlmostAJillSandwich · 15/12/2022 22:59

Hoping her mum has it, me and my dad live together with same initials, a few times seller has just used first initial surname, as we had no idea whose item it was. He's opened my stuff before or taken it to his bedroom never mentioning it to me assuming its his and he just forgot he'd ordered something.

Zonder · 15/12/2022 23:46

She must have had time to ask her mum by now!

Strangestthings · 16/12/2022 00:04

Missing the point but £40 for 25ml perfume?!

SeveruslyFrazzled · 16/12/2022 00:16

hmm I think she’s trying it on yes… purely because of the lack of reply’s and delay

sayalittleprayerr · 16/12/2022 07:37

Thing is the parcel said her full name not initials
She still hasn't replied

OP posts:
sayalittleprayerr · 16/12/2022 09:48

Vinted responded saying they are waiting for her to provide information and so far she hasn't
She has been online constantly so you work think she would of asked her mum by now wouldn't you

OP posts:
Zonder · 16/12/2022 15:25

That she hasn't even responded to Vinted says it all really.

SaturnaliaCalling · 16/12/2022 15:29

I've been following this and have my fingers crossed for you, OP.

Sartre · 16/12/2022 15:29

Even if Vinted do side with her (which is unlikely given the fact tracking shows it was delivered), you will also get the money from Vinted. I sold something that went missing and the buyer was refunded but so was I so I didn’t lose out on anything.

Misty333 · 16/12/2022 17:58

I’v just sold my first item on Vinted I hope this doesn’t happen to me☹️

ABBAsnumberonefan · 16/12/2022 18:23

Do a disputed delivery claim

purplebunny2012 · 16/12/2022 18:31

Another Yodel are awful story.
I decided during my week away I would have my Hello Fresh order delivered to the holiday park we were staying at to avoid hassle of getting food in for half the week.
Got the message on the day that box had arrived. I'd put in notes deliver to reception. I walked to reception, no box, they didn't know anything about it.
I faffed about and got the actual coordinates of where Yodel had delivered to, about 1.5 miles away from the holiday park! I even drove to those coordinates hoping it was on a doorstep or taken in. Most of the houses were empty.
I never got my box but Hello Fresh did compensate me for the inconvenience of then having to buy food.
If Yodel had been a good company, they would have seen the delivery address was clearly a bloody holiday park and not a house!

HashtagShitShop · 16/12/2022 18:45

I hate the vinted selling side. Especially when sending via rm, you have to beg your buyer to mark as receivd or wait a month for it to be accepted as long as in that time they don't say they haven't received it.

Once text a yodel courier who was adamant he had left a parcel at my house through the letter box (number was on tracking) . Wouldn't hear otherwise.... Until I sent him video proof via WhatsApp that he hadn't even entered my front garden and had gone straight past. Funnily enough he turned up at my house that same night having "collected the parcel" from where he had "misdelivered it."

About a fortnight ago I'd been waiting all day for an evri parcel due between 4 and 6. Half 6 I realise it hadn't arrived so rechecked it and it said they'd tried to deliver but we weren't in. I checked back on my cctv and he didn't even get out his car he just took a picture of my house (backed up by position and angle of the "proof" pic.) so I emailed the clip to the ceo as it was an expensive item and I didn't want it to go missing (I had a lot of issues with evri back as hermes and this happening) as they have no social media or customer service other than an automated chat bot.

2 days later its out for delivery again and he tried to deliver it 5 hours earlier than the tracking (when I was out), signed for it himself and put his address as "my neighbour". (he was the next block it turns out!) I finally receive it that evening he's clearly angry I've chased it up and the box is mangled, has clearly been open and the parcel gone through with whacking great holes in it. Luckily all was there but ceos office couldn't care less either way! I think he thought wouldn't have chased it up. Fed back to original sender too and explained all about what had happened with evri.

Tldr: from your posts she's trying it on but also at the same time I've found couriers either falsify records to say they've delivered earlier within a time frame thst they haven't or they flat out lie and seemingly try and keep parcels for themselves.

sayalittleprayerr · 16/12/2022 18:49

I have posted on a Facebook group but had my post removed by admin as I named her
Didn't think it was against the rules
Anyway vinted have been useless and basically said they can't use tracking as proof apparently as it might not be in her physical possession

I hope you get your money OP. I set up a vented account with the intention of selling loads of clothes and shoes with tags that never fitted me (I was going to lose weight). Just before adding all my stuff I read reviews on trustpilot and changed my mind, went back to eBay and paid the selling fees instead.

ReformedWaywardTeen · 16/12/2022 18:51

The whole mums initials thing is a huge chancer red flag.

I would point that out to Vinted.

I'm actually surprised at them as they're usually really good.

Do you know if you're covered with the courier if she says it's been incorrectly delivered?

wentworthinmate · 16/12/2022 18:52

She's opened it, sniffed it, doesn't like it and now lying. (Sorry haven't read whole post if sorted).

Tropicaliyes · 16/12/2022 18:54

There is a YouTuber I watch every so often and she had a similar issue happen a few weeks ago, she sent a Canada goose jacket worth a few hundred and even took pics of it being put into the delivery locker and everything. Then on the other side the person claimed they didn’t order “old mans shoes”! It’s only her wife and her so there were no old man shoes and her picture shows a plump package that clearly showed a fluffy jacket.

The woman knew the person did receive the jacket as they didn’t deny receiving it, just claiming the package was a old worn out pain of males shoes! She went back and forth with Vinted about the whole situation and it has been weeks now and to my knowledge I don’t believe they resolved the issue so the person got the jacket and possibly a refund and the seller possibly hasn’t had anything yet!

tbh I feel like just getting things delivered through normal providers can be a issue as they have claimed they have delivered my stuff but I haven’t gotten them and like in a large estate so GPS never shows my house, just my building. I have had more people than I can count fake my signature and even had people leave things on the side of the road as they got frustrated and couldn’t find our address!

I would love to sell home hand crafted stuff but I can’t trust these delivery providers! I have had things put in my letter box from Royal Mail that was a signed for package only (hundreds of £ through a letterbox that possibly wasn’t even mine!), If windows are open they will throw it in there and take risks that they really shouldn’t.

I really hope you get a resolve to this but I haven’t seen Vinted do much better than what you are hoping they are not going to do! I’m glad I’m seeing these things through other people before I ever though to try it because the are not protecting their sellers which is unfortunate.

Esquire3 · 16/12/2022 18:55

I think she's ripping you off and I would go in full mode to get my money,Google map her address, find her on facebook and message her to remind her that you can trace her if she doesn't pay and go civil route(just out of principle,I would definitely find out what kind of character she seems !

wentworthinmate · 16/12/2022 18:55

PS: On any selling site with ratings, don't deal with people with below 5.

MrsJaxTeller3 · 16/12/2022 18:57

I had similar with Vinted although the lady didn’t dispute receipt of the item, a pair of worn once kids Hunter wellies, she said they were fake, luckily I had the receipt and an email receipt for them as id included the paper one in the parcel, so I said I’d accept them back, through Vinted, she sent a completely different pair, luckily again I’d UV penned my initials on the bottom of the pair I’d sent out and taken pics! I’ve been an eBay seller too long to fall for the bait and switch, it took 6 weeks of emailing Vinted to get a resolution in my favour which I did, don’t give up. They offer the postage options, they hold you to certain ones, they have to accept that not everyone is honest and that if they can scam someone they will. Next time use the Royal Mail recorded option. I’m fact change the setting on Vinted for postage to include only one that takes a photo as proof, which I was under the impression today have to do?

Gh12345 · 16/12/2022 19:00

Just want to point out - an Amazon driver once took a pic of my package at the gate (I was watching through kitchen window) then he buggered off with my box. And it said it was delivered. The item ended up on Facebook marketplace within an hour close to me.

mrsjackrussell · 16/12/2022 19:06

Im sorry this has happened to you.
I have sold and bought a lot of stuff on vinted with no problem at all.

mrsjackrussell · 16/12/2022 19:13

@TrTropicaliyes
I sell handmade stuff on Etsy and in all that time iv never had a parcel go missing with Royal mail. I only use second class.

I used Hermes a couple of times and one of the buyers tried to say they never received but there was a picture of their doorstep with their feet next to it accepting delivery.

I think what im trying to say is that people that buy handmade are normally nice people and iv sold over 700 items.
