Not in a great position with my finances so trying to sell extra bits on vinted to make extra cash for Christmas.
Sold a brand new bottle of perfume and it was delivered on Tuesday.
She was online since then every hour or so and didn't confirm delivery.
A hour before I was due to get funds released she claims it hasn't arrived.
Yodel tracking shows delivered,I have proof of postage,I spoke to yodel customer service who have checked and the drivers sat nav have showed delivery to exact location.
I'm gutted -it's £40 I need
I'm worried vinted will refund her and she has my perfume.
I've forwarded all this to vinted but not hopeful

Buyer hasn't replied to any messages either

And if their courier hasn’t done their due diligence by photographing delivery then that’s on vinted as the service owner, they shouldn’t use couriers that don’t provide an adequate service to avoid sellers being vulnerable to scams.

My DF worked for CAB. He told me this good tip when you have lost money through a commercial dispute: Go online to the Money Claims Court, fill out the Claims Form, but send it directly to the other party. Tell them you are about to submit and will be adding the £30 court fee to the claim. I have done it three times. Usually gets a quick response.

Brefugee · 15/12/2022 13:08

I have tried Vinted once, after my DDs and friends say it's good.
And i was scammed on the first thing i bought, and Vinted were useless.
So i won't use them any more, and i tell all my friends who ask not to bother.

The only way i think i'd sell something on Vinted or elsewhere now is self collect, and film the handover and them examining it and saying on video that it's fine. And getting cash.

sayalittleprayerr · 15/12/2022 13:09

@TruffleShuffles no she's just clicked a button with vinted and said she hasn't received it
I messaged her showing yodel tracking /customer service claiming it was delivered to exact location and she read and didn't reply.
It was Tuesday when it was delivered and she waited a hour before money was released to me to claim she didn't receive it

I had something like this was waiting on a parcel that they said was in a safeplace. Turned out they put it in neighbours shed, neighbour picked it up but didnt bring it around. Have they checked all around their building and with neighbours?

TortugaRumCakeQueen · 15/12/2022 13:29

Well she's a bit stupid, because you know where she lives. My Mum did some work for a guy who didn't pay up. My Dad stood outside his house with a megaphone, announcing to the whole street how this man had scammed my Mum. He was mortified. Quelle surprise, he paid up to get rid of my Dad.

sayalittleprayerr · 15/12/2022 13:34

I’ve had items go missing in transit that I’ve sold on Vinted and I got the money because the tracking showed I had sent it. In my case the buyers were also refunded as it had not arrived.
I think you will get the money but I don’t think it will be quick.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 15/12/2022 13:43

TruffleShuffles · 15/12/2022 12:40

Surely if you have proof you have sent the item you will get your money from Vinted regardless, it doesn’t matter where the item has or hasn’t gone. Has the buyer actually clicked the button to say there is an issue with the item or has she just messaged you?

This, surely?

amyneedssleep · 15/12/2022 13:43

I've had delivery companies leave stuff on my doorstep (I live in a gated apartment block but still, there are a lot of other residents who could potentially take it) and then say the parcel was delivered to the customer. The same thing may have happened to her and the parcel could have been nicked from her doorstep.

Delivery companies need to insist their drivers take a picture of the item in the person's hand with the door clearly visible, otherwise there's no real accountability.

And this

sayalittleprayerr · 15/12/2022 13:44

It doesn't actually say safe place.
Normally parcels I send will say on yodel delivered safe place
This actually says delivered to customer with yodel confirming it was exact location
I think if she genuinely didn't receive it she would respond to me -she isn't

sayalittleprayerr · 15/12/2022 13:45

@amyneedssleep surely if this was the case she wouldn't of waited 2 days to tell vinted?
She's been online every day (as I checked to see if she had marked as received)

Yeah, tbf it does sound like she's pulling a fast one. But it's still a shame the delivery person didn't take the picture to avoid disputes like this.

squigglesquirrel · 15/12/2022 13:55

I’ve had parcels delivered to the wrong address and left in random recycling bins. One left some Christmas presents outside the wrong house in freezing temperatures and claimed someone with my surname had signed for it.

Just because a courier claims they delivered something doesn’t mean they did.

SillySausage81 · 15/12/2022 13:56

To be fair, I have had this happen to me as a buyer (of something quite expensive) and with Royal Mail, no less. Royal Mail said it was delivered and handed to me. It wasn't. I had actual CCTV footage of the time they said it was delivered, their van was on the street (so GPS showed it there at "my property") but I had evidence they delivered nothing.

My grandmother sent me a parcel via Royal Mail tracked delivery earlier this year and it never arrived, but RM insisted it had been delivered to my address. I was at home the entire day that it was supposedly "delivered" and it definitely was not delivered. Unfortunately I don't have any CCTV or anything to prove it. But yeah, it does happen.

squidgybits · 15/12/2022 13:59

Vinted is quite notorious for this

Opaljewel · 15/12/2022 14:00

Download the yodel app. I found they show more info on there such as a photo.

I had one who said She didn't have it. I showed her the photo and she was able to locate it and she gladly updated that it was delivered. My heart was in my mouth thinking I would lose money. Try that that first.

NameChange1718 · 15/12/2022 14:01

I have been on both sides of this with vinted and both times I lost out. Unfortunately they’re good at letting scammers get away with it

mam0918 · 15/12/2022 14:02

Its probably a Yodel issue... there GPS doesnt have a fucking clue they have regularly lost package for me they even misdelivered my wedding cake on my wedding day they always say 'GPS' says it was right and they are never even close to where they are suppose to be.

They will deliver to a house that clearly says on it 32 Thorneholm when they are suppose to deliver to 4 pine street and then say 'but GPS said...'.

Vinted should refund both of you and take it up with the delivery company.

sayalittleprayerr · 15/12/2022 14:03

No photo on app just delivered to customer
She still hasn't responded to my messages yet being active on the app
I was relying on that money
It's so frustrating
