Does your vomit bowl have an alternative use?

I'm clearing out my mums house, and I've found the glow in the dark Halloween pumpkin bowl that was dragged out every bug to be used as a vom bowl.

I always thought at Halloween the sweets that went in the big glow in the dark pumpkin bowl went into another one that we just didn't see?

Nope. I asked my dad. They just disinfected the vomit bowl a few times and stuck halloween sweets in it. I've eaten popcorn from that bowl!!

What the fuck? I feel so violated!!

When I was a kid it doubled as the cake mixing bowl. Didn't realise until I was an adult.

Mine is a washing up bowl that I use to hold used cleaning cloths until I wash them! (For some reason I don’t like to put them in a wash with clothes in case they bleach them or something!)

Also used to clean stones or shells collected on walks etc.

Definitely don’t use it to eat from!

We have a vom bowl at home and it's only use is to be puked into. I think id cry if someone served me food in it!

I had hyperemisis in a twin pregnancy.

Every single pyrex bowl in the house went in the recycling and was replaced with something in a different colour or shape. Rationally it's ridiculous and I ought to be ashamed, but... no, not sorry.

No! It lives in a cupboard until it’s needed.

I have very large stainless steel bowl that I use for my Christmas cakes and also on occasion for vomming. It’s sterilised I’m the dishwasher in between times.

Ours is not our main but an alternative cake mixing bowl, also ocassionally use it to serve popcorn or similar. I mean it's disinfected and dishwashed on the rare occasions it's used for vomit, and therefore no dirtier than anything else. Unless it was made from something porous you know that vomit and germs wash off right?? That's literally the point of washing. After you wash a thing, it's clean....

Growing up we used an old washing up bowl or this bucket that had a teddy bear sticker on it 😂 as a grown up my husband bought me a cake mixing bowl but I didn't like it so that became the sick bowl. They all live under the kitchen sink and are usually full of cleaning sponges, light bulbs and other odds and sods that live under the sink.

I have two receptacles for vom, one is the "bucket of doom" it makes my youngest laugh.

Neither ever used for anything else!

It gets virtually no use as a vomit bowl, but quite a lot of use as a mixing bowl.
Its disinfected on the rare occasions its needed.

I only keep one in the car and it has actually never been used for vomit but has been used for emergency BlackBerry picking 😁
