I don't think she deserves to be on a list of unpleasant celebrities because she has the audacity to wear make up and speak. She's also had a horrific year or so with a chronic health condition and anxiety and probably could do without this kind of negativity.

I was actually going to say something similar (I have absolutely no idea who she is mind you) but wearing make up to the gym (I mean, I wouldn't but her choice) and having a "face on" (which is totally subjective anyway) doesn't seem like that big a crime?

Oh yes, my friend also has doubts about that and seems to think that it is all greatly exaggerated for media attention, as she says so much of it is inconsistent with what she's seen (She lives a few roads away from her). But you are right: People can look and speak however they want to.

Jeremy Kyle - Absolutely horrible person. Was annoyed that my 15 year old daughter looked at him, came over with his chest puffed up and was about to open his mouth in a rant until he spotted me. complete nelson complex. WHo'd have thought, heah...

he is vile presenting the show so i can imagine him being more vile in real life

Paddy McGuinness. Utter slimeball. Tried desperately to convince my friend to shag him and when she told him to leave her alone he called her an ugly cunt. This is years ago I will add.

thats gross. I wonder he must have slept with most of those beautiful ladies on popular show he did . I dont know the name of the show but where they select their match and someone come down from the lift

SpongeBob2022 · 23/10/2022 12:28

It was obvious what you meant and easy enough to work out that it was a type o! Don't worry about it.

PA on film set said they girls from pitch perfect (Anna Kendrick and rebel Wilson) where horrible and just really rude. On the flip side they said that Eddie redmayne was one of the nicest people they have ever met.

I knew someone who worked at the Royal Academy, so not my story...
He told me that David Attenborough was absolutely vile.
( I know I couldn't believe it either)
Apparently the Academy does out of hours openings for their special members. On this occasion J had to open up, was thrilled to do so as he was a huge fan of DH.
Whilst unlocking the areas he turned to David H and mentioned he thought the last episode of xxx was the best TV he had ever seen. DH stood there and stared at him before saying coldly.. " I don't think someone like you should be talking to someone like me"
J was mortified.
On another occasion DH threw his coat at J and told him to take care of it.
He didn't left the coat on the floor and walked away.
Has never watched anything he's made since. Apparently his partner looked embarrassed both times.

A couple of years ago my DH worked with Sir David, and spent most of the day with him. He was nothing but polite. Seemed to be a bit shy, but it was a cold and not pleasant day weather wise. Sir D had a daughter with him who was in charge of transport, etc., so there were a few times when arrangements and discussions had to take precedence, but certainly no arrogance or rudeness.

Sean Paul. He asked me if I knew who he was. I didn’t. He then told me how lucky I am to be near him. Okay.

I'd have had to counter with, " But do you know who I am? Because actually, you're even luckier to be near me"

QueenOf1969 · 23/10/2022 12:51

Peter Kay -one of the rudest and most arrogant men I’ve had the misfortune to deal with.

FallingLeaves111 · 23/10/2022 10:11

Megan Markle, and I have met quite a few AAA listers through work. The majority are polite or say very little.

What was bad about her? Please do elaborate.

Shortkiwi · 23/10/2022 13:08

Met Jean Boht in the 80s, the actress who starred in the TV series Bread, after a live screening of Jim’ll fix it 😬- at the BBC. I mentioned I was from her neck of the woods. She looked at me like she had dirt on her shoe!
Also, a few years ago, I went to see K D Lang in a UK concert, I’ve always loved her voice/music. Before the show we were sitting outside a restaurant, near the theatre, when all of a sudden she walked across the road on her own. A few people approached to say hello, hardly anyone was there but she looked so pissed off to be approached and would not engage or smile. I was so disappointed.

Racingadmin · 23/10/2022 13:08

Eamonn holmes - so rude he actually clicked his fingers to get my attention

Clawdy · 23/10/2022 13:10

So the "have a go at Meghan M" brigade take over the thread. Just a matter of time, I guess.

Sorebackandibs · 23/10/2022 13:11

Kanye West is an arrogant bully who thinks he is far more important than he actually is. Shocking, I know!

I had the displeasure of serving him in a restaurant. Before he arrived, his PA sent an email for the kitchen with a list of bullet points about things Kanye likes and dislikes. One of them was 'Kanye enjoys food with a lot of flavour because that's how he was raised' 🤔🤣 Sorry mate, we only sell bland, tasteless slop at this Michelin star restaurant. We had great fun ripping the piss out of that list in the kitchen.

veganmayo · 23/10/2022 13:13

i have met a few through work but Dev Griffiths (if he counts as a celeb) was self-absorbed, dull, and uninterested in anyone ‘below’ him.

I’m quite pleased to hear David Attenborough is a twat. It makes me feel better about not being able to stand him popping up on my telly every five minutes lecturing me about climate change, when it’s not me whose entire career is thanks to the wonders of air travel Blush

This really made me laugh. I’m not a fan

ReformedWaywardTeen · 23/10/2022 13:20

Ruby wax is a horrible person.

She is quite simply not funny and barely cracks a smile unless being paid to or on the TV. She was at a charity event and had been asked to be keynote speaker and do her stand up. Instead she lectured everyone there on how appalling her life is and we should be pleased she was even there. She then stood at the back being rude if anyone asked her to sign their book which she had agreed to do prior.

Kirsty Allsop is also a misery.

Meanwhile, Judy Murray is an utter star, witty, engaging and cones across as just a very proud mum.
Lauren Laverne is lovely too, very happy to chat.
Grace Dent I was petrified to talk to, turns out she's incredibly funny and loves a good debate.
And Olly Murs was doing a signing at my local music store, at the time DD liked him but we couldn't get near the place. Instead, we popped for some lunch, and then went to get the bus, the stop was behind the store he was doing the signing in.
We realised he was taking a break, standing by the door, so DD waved at him and he ushered them over. We said we had wanted to come in but it was a bit overwhelming and too many people which had put a 7 year old DD off. He gave them the biggest cuddle, had a selfie, and signed DDs poster they'd brought with them.
Perrie from Little Mix is nice too, she was at an event just herself to watch, with people I assume are friends, DD went over even though I said she probably shouldn't as some celebs get funny when not on stage, not at all, Perrie was lovely, another very well received hug and selfie.

JanetSally · 23/10/2022 13:28

It's very hard to know how to judge some of these without context.

A celebrity could look a bit sour if they've been approached for the 10th time during a family meal out for a selfie. Or if they're being asked for their autograph while trying to pay for and pack their shopping or are talking on their phone.

Obviously no excuse for telling anyone to fuck off or for behaving miserably during a paid for public appearance. But I'm sure there's just as many rude fans as rude celebrities.

I think it's possible that the person was short tempered with your friend because they got their Attenborough's mixed up!
Imagine being told "The Living Planet" was cutting edge for nature documentaries when you'd just been in Gandhi or vice versa!
Refuse to believe David isn't a perfect gent.

Mine is Kate Middleton, the new Princess of Wales. Met her through work, mind you, I meet quite a few AAA listers.

That's why ive not posted a lot of stuff where I've had brief encounters. People have off days. All of us do.

I've only mentioned people who were just completely obnoxious.

One of my biggest jobs was with an actor who's now gone to Hollywood and won an armful of BAFTAs and emmys. He was clearly shy and didn't want to be there! But he was polite and professional. No trouble at all.

I wouldn't include him here as he wasn't a dick. He didn't shout at anyone. Didn't treat the runner like a slave. And didn't insist his girlfriend be hired as the make up artist (and charge double the rate) so they could snort said fee during the shoot... no that would be a (short lived) tv presenter.
