I saw the lady who plays Audrey Roberts from Corrie in a Manchester train station once , she was alone and minding her own business , I just remember how painfully thin she was .

Watching her worries me now! She is looking frail

It blows my mind every day that this woman is famous. For what?? Taking up oxygen?

Same here. She is the exact same as she is in photos/TV, big blonde hair, very tall and huge.

Tutchytutchyfeelyfeely · 27/10/2022 20:33

Another Awful person was David van day (dollar singer then later toured with bucks fizz) I worked with him for 2 weeks and what a moaning Minnie! Always arguing with someone.. Very unlikeable! And drank a lot and was always hungover! Someone who was really nice was Mike Read (the actor who played Frank Butcher) as was the guy who first played 'joey from bread' .. 😊 On the whole more celebs were nice than horrible.

Best, Rory Bremner, very polite and charming, appeared interested in everyone's inane chitter chatter. Noel Gallagher also lovely as was vintage England captain Bobby Moore. Worst sadly Craig Charles as he appears such good fun on TV. Seemed very angry and dismissive in real life.

David Walliams. On a flight back from a work trip, a colleague pointed him out, but I was too knackered to be interested. We landed, and once I had my luggage I made my way through to find my driver. I couldn't see a sign with my name on anywhere, so got my phone out to call to find out where they were. I had my phone up looking for the email with the contact info, and as I was doing that, David Walliams came up to me and asked me to stop taking photos of him! I could barely believe what I was hearing and just responded that I wasn't! He then demanded to see my photos, and I have no idea why except that I was quite taken aback, but I showed him. Not a single photo of the idiot. As he walked away, he yelled - stop taking photos of me - and I responded that I wasn't - and his companion then yelled at me saying that it looked like I was! I was sooo embarrassed by all of this - it felt like everyone was staring - and I had done nothing wrong except hold my phone in a way that a complete ego manic thought was directed at him! Needless to say, his books are banned in my house!

I'd have shouted "I'm looking for my taxi you dick - why would I take photos ? Who are you ?"
😂

Famous 90s boy band member o once got arrested where I work - he tried the "do you know who I am ?" Thing in custody to which everyone went "no ! " and the Sgt said "your detention is authorised "

Took the wind right out of his sails.

Craig McLachlan. Wanker. The only shock anyone (with XX chromosomes) in the biz had when he was found guilty of sexual harrassment was that it took so fucking long. I can tell you he’s fucking talented, but he’s a creepy bellend and I made sure that I and anyone I knew were never alone with him and that didn’t even work.

So sad :( Glad the 14 year old me never knew this! I had posters of him all over my bedroom and thought I'd marry him one day!!!!

lollipoprainbow · 28/10/2022 07:36

@AnonyMouseToday me too ! I was obsessed with him fantasied about being his wife !

I've not seen this, is it as good as the hype?

Oh yes!
He's is God's gift 🤤

Didn't have a great encounter with Dec, Ant was charming though.

On the flip side, Rod Stewart is an absolute gentleman and his wife Penny is lovely.

HMMM
I was in RL in London a few (many) years ago and he was there with a wife and daughter (maybe not a daughter from same wife- could have been current wife and an older daughter )

They had bought a lot and he was sitting on the chair going through the bill and moaning as he clearly thought that he had been overcharged.

I used to work on the East Coast mainline trains (in many of its iterations!) usually serving in First so we got loads of well known faces in there.

Gordon Brown stands out as having been quite rude. He didn't even look up when asked if he wanted refreshments and had the person with him had to answer on his behalf. The other politicians I remember, from all different parties, were very polite.

Doesn't seem particularly rude to me, I don't always look up if asked do I want refreshments, the onus is on you to say if you do.

LaGioconda · 29/10/2022 08:01

TeaAtLast · 23/10/2022 23:35

Oh gosh. I met her when I was a 16 year old politics student. She was the most patronising, arrogant and annoying person I'd ever met (though have met a few worse since!) Almost completely put me off politics. I will never forget that day and whenever I see her on TV etc.. now I remember the cringey horrid day she spoke to my friends and I. Maybe she's changed now though. This was 26 or 27 years ago!

Huh? She would only have been around 16 or 17 herself, and isn't exactly known as a politician?

ZombieKettle · 29/10/2022 13:01

Can't help but wonder if that poster has confused Alison Hammond with Diane Abbott 😬

I see someone has already drawn attention to this but please don't name the Duchess of Sussex on this type of thread because, as most of us realise, negative comments about her are always inspired by a fundamental racism.

Nonsense

Mabelface · 30/10/2022 10:52

Both Fizz and Hayley from coronation Street are lovely. I see the latter fairly frequently and have a natter. Spent a good half hour chatting to Clive mantle, really nice and interesting bloke.

Quittingthyme · 30/10/2022 12:52

Is this a serious comment? @SundownOnTheStair

MeltingWinterSnow · 30/10/2022 13:15

Nicole Kidman filmed in Hong Kong during covid restrictions. She bypassed all the quarantine requirements and apparently behaved like an absolute arse. I know someone who worked as an extra on set - said she was unbelievably awful, endless temper tantrums and horrifically rude to everyone who wasn't 'important'

Lordofmyflies · 30/10/2022 13:26

My previous job bought me in contact with a fair few celebs. I think the inverse fame rule usually applies. The famous / skilled celebs are usually genuine and lovely, the wannabes are usually idiots. Top of my idiot list are Rolf Harris, Jamie Theakston and John Leslie. All were sleazy, rude men that I would not want to be in a room alone with. The kindest were David Beckham, Martin Clunes, George Michael, Jonathon Ross. Really lovely people.

TheRossatron · 30/10/2022 13:29

Would love to know if anyone on here has ever met Tom Hanks. I absolutely adore him, would be so dismayed if he's a secret arsehole

ProjectTiger · 30/10/2022 13:31

I know someone who worked for Princess Diana from time to time. Whilst lovely at times, If she didn't get her own way she could apparently have toddler like tantrums - throwing and breaking things, lying on the floor screaming and crying etc.

stemthetide · 30/10/2022 13:39

TheRossatron

A friend of mine met Tom Hanks some years ago when Tom was filming near my friend's house.
You'll be pleased to know that Tom couldn't have been nicer or kinder and even wrote after he returned home.

Sundown - I'm going to assume you were being ironic! I would say it's highly racist to interpret every comment about the DoS as racist.

There more to her than her ethnicity.

Pugdogmom · 30/10/2022 15:44

I've met Billy Connolly a few times ( lovely man). Robbie Coltrane was nice when I met him, but he wasn't as famous back then. I literally bumped right into Steve Davis ( snooker player), absolute gentleman.
I spoke to William Roache on the phone via my job who was a total dick.
DD had Duncan Bannatyne staying at her hotel and said he was a complete arsehole, but Gordon Ramsay was nice.
