I spoke to William Roache on the phone via my job who was a total dick.

Many years ago someone who had worked with him told me that he was very unpleasant and also very sleazy, and was known as "cock" Roache.

A friend of mine met Tom Hanks some years ago when Tom was filming near my friend's house.
You'll be pleased to know that Tom couldn't have been nicer or kinder and even wrote after he returned home.

I’m so very pleased to hear that.

I've only ever heard good things about Tom Hanks. It. Must be bloody exhausting for him, always being 'on' like that 😂 There must be some days when he wants to have a temper tantrum.

Cantfeelmuchthesedays · 03/11/2022 17:44

@DesdamonasHandkerchief There was a clip of him getting angry with a cameraman, but that was because he was getting far too much into his wife’s face…makes me like him even more, he was clearing protecting his wife.

I used to work in one of the ‘poshest‘ hotels in the U.K. and met loads of famous people. I have to say I didn’t really have a bad experience with any of them!

footballers - all absolutely fantastic, a good laugh and really laid back and respectful. About 80% of their wives? Ooof! I really don’t blame the ones who’s husbands shag everything that moves though

Dependonjustme · 18/10/2025 12:10

A lot of these celebrities start off unknown and the fame goes to their heads

Dependonjustme · 18/10/2025 12:26

Can’t stand him

Chris Tarrant . I was a contestant on WWTBAM many years ago and he was awful.

Me too and I agree. Much wrinklier IRL, too!

Glasgowgal200 · 23/12/2025 20:52

Strangely, Johnny Briggs who played his arch enemy Mike Baldwin moved to outpr town after he retired and was absolutely lovely. My Aunt was almost stalking him at one stage 🤣. When I was pushing fil's wheelchair he happily waited for a good 30 seconds for us to reach the entrance to the restaurant we were going to holding the door so I could get dad in...it was pissing down and he was stood in the full force of it.
Diana Dors waved at me once when we were stuck in traffic on the Hammersmith flyover...

Jason Orange in Take That's fallow period came to the cafe I worked in. Breakfast time was over and we were putting out lunch. He wanted breakfast and I told him we weren't doing it anymore, he asked me if I knew who he was. I just stared at him and said no matter who you are there is no breakfast but you can have soup? What an idiot.

Middlemarch123 · 23/12/2025 21:41

I’ve met a few celebrities for what it’s worth, Bradley Walsh, lovely. Michelle Collins, beautiful and gracious. Peter Davison when he was Dr Who, charming and a gentleman.

You should've said to him "Yeah , didn't you used to be a painter&decorator"?

I met sir Ian McKellen a few months ago, he was an absolute gentleman.

Tyler Posey (because of my daughter lol) was lovely, had a lot of time for us.

Charlie Cox was really nice and asked our names and was just really sweet.

Theslummymummy · 23/12/2025 22:03

Chastity from emmerdale. Rude as fuck

Lunatone · 24/12/2025 00:24

I once met Prince Andrew, long before the Jeffrey Epstein connection came out. He was rude and arrogant, so later revelations were not much of a surprise.

lborgia · 26/12/2025 06:21

I once picked up my phone at work to find Kate Adie (BBC war reporter) on the other end. I have a fairly uncommon name, but there were two of us at work, and she was put through to the wrong one.

She didn't pause for breath before berating "me" about some issue with her book, and so when I pointed out she had the wrong publisher she was already in rant mode. It was, it seemed to me, a really small issue, but she was incandescent, and didn't apologise for being foul to the wrong person.

I pitied her publisher, and immediately stopped complaining in my head about my authors who were often a bit difficult.

Again, it could've been a final straw, but it really knocked the wind out of me!
