I think both are awful and we should have a general election but if you had to choose between these two, who would you choose to be PM?

YANBU = Boris
YABU = Rishi

@BorisforPmx2 in what way does he make you laugh?

OneFrenchEgg · 22/10/2022 20:57

@BorisforPmx2 not an unfamiliar message to be honest. Married to a Tory voter who has a lot of Tory mates - Boris and the gang can do no wrong really. I've always felt that there's a weird Labour aversion based on assumptions and not reading the manifestos / listening to them. Also I feel like a lot of people vote Tory because it's aspirational or how they live now.

XingMing · 22/10/2022 20:59

In my book, gonhorrhea is preferable to syphilis. It's easily treated and if left untreated, it doesn't make you deranged. Whoever "wins" the Tory leadership is going to be cast aside at the next GE.

BorisforPmx2 · 22/10/2022 21:03

@threegoodthings

Besides getting us through Covid and delivering the World leading vaccine rollout he delivers excellent charismatic speeches, bats off Starmer and his idiocy too in a humorous way. I work shifts so often watch PMQs, I have missed him.

I was a remain voter as well. I can’t give a fuck about the parties either.

Actually I didn’t know I had so many Tory mates, I just remarked to a few “Oh god can we have Boris back” in the last few days and shocked how many agree!

Whereas I’m married to a lifelong Tory voter who thinks Johnson is a cunt, Truss is worse and thinks they’re all treating politics like a game. He’s seriously contemplating not voting in the next GE.

nonono1 · 22/10/2022 21:07

Rishi has my vote as it’s thanks to his grants to small businesses that I managed to stay afloat during the pandemic. He seems sensible and pragmatic.

BorisforPmx2 · 22/10/2022 21:09

Oh and before anyone tells me I’m awful and want to take from the poor blah blah blah.

i have a friend with a 750k house in Notting Hill, he was all for Truss’s mini budget, then when she reversed that he was “I’m thinking of domiciling in Gibraltar” and now he’s come out with “I’d vote Starmer over Boris” 😂😂😂

I live him , (no I’m nowhere that rich) but if anyone thinks just Tories are self serving 😂😂😂😂😂

Are there 750K houses in Notting hill?!

TheHouseonHauntedHill · 22/10/2022 21:14

Rip , I was thinking the same thing.

threegoodthings · 22/10/2022 21:15

There is no such thing as a 750k house in Notting hill!

Christ, they're worth more than that where I live.

Stop with the amateur dramatics. The prolonged lockdowns will cost far more lives, even in the medium term.

Is just a thing you say with absolutely no evidence whatsoever.

Trust me , he will soon change his tune when he see us throwing nearly £1500: a month at people who can’t even spend a morning a month out of their ten hour work week to subsidise her poor life choices. At least she has to spend a few hours a month to get it now. Is it all just gonna be free money , no questions asked under Starmer?

People
on here are unbelievable. EVERYONE was happy to bleat on about lockdowns. Everyone was riding the “furlough wave”. Everyone was reporting neighbours and bitching and moaning about leaving the house.

everyone is now pissed off at the govt funding the lockdown?! They cowtowed to pressure, as every fucking party would have done. We are in this position fiscally because of 1) initial panic and ignorance and then 2) just trying to do what the people wanted.

Boris is a selfish prick and Rishi is perfectly fine and credible. The conservatives are a shitshow and hopefully they will pick rishi and things will improve but let’s not pretend things would be better after the covid aftermath with labour in charge (NB not counting the farcical 6 weeks that have just happened where truss shit all over everyone and everything for no reason whatsoever )

Agreed. Boris as a libertarian didn’t want to lockdown AT ALL and in hindsight it buggered the country but he did what the electorate wanted AT THE TIME. This site in particular was slavering over the country being locked down for as long as possible.

then all the bitching that Rishi is too rich to know how to relate to anyone. Well he knew enough to provide furlough and there were an awful lot of people learning to make sourdough and sitting in the sun doing nothing and being able to pay their rent and mortgages because of Rishi’s distinctly socialist approach to the lockdown.

the Tories don’t like him as he’s centrist and fiscally cautious but as the next PM at this point in time he is what we need. And he might be better as chancellor than as leader. The Chancellor is the key hire at the moment for me. The PM is just fielding out the balls in this maelstrom and I don’t care if it is Boris. He’ll be out in 2 years anyway but he was who was voted in, in the last GE so let’s just batten down the hatches, fix the economy where we’re able and not have men in women’s sports.

Good post. Plus Rishi did the whole money into bank accounts for energy crisis

Boris concerns me if it’s too destabilising (party or markets) but otherwise I agree

@PotKettleB ..good post.

I just want any unity and stability at the moment!
Chancellor definitely key but we still have the threat of Putin.

TheHouseonHauntedHill · 22/10/2022 21:47

Being pragmatic and working with what we have to hand, it will be good if Boris and sunack can work something out.

I just think this is the worst time to have any newbie's in the role....

No, cos you won’t even show him, nobody in their right mind thinks getting away with £1500 a month to subsidise 3 healthy kids of above a 24/7 caring age while you get away with working a 10 hour week is ok, 🙄

He thinks the current Tory party is beyond redemption and needs a period in opposition to sort itself out. So you’re wrong. Despite your arrogance in thinking you know him better than I do. 🤷‍♀️
