Can this be true?

I don't know the word but the power of certain minds? Is it real?

3 years ago I had a week's horrible unexpected hospital stay. I swelled up so much I took my engagement ring off (not my wedding ring).

When I came home I put it somewhere "safe" as I was still bloated and since then I haven't found it. I'm almost certain it was in the kitchen but to this day I haven't found it.

It's a beautiful ring, not massively expensive (cost £375 18 years ago). It was designed based on Monica's ring from Friends but opposite settings - emerald cut sapphire, with a small diamond either side on a white gold plain band.

Can anyone help me find it please? 🙈 I'm not spiritual but willing to try this ridiculous plea to being my lovely eing back to me.

How do you pin the devil? Not heard of that.

I had never heard of that saying either but maybe like a magpie likes shiny things, the devil has absconded with the OP's ring.
This is what I found when I searched for "Pin the Devil":

Even with the link I’m still unsure 😂

Sorry! You basically get something sharp (eg a badge, pin, needle etc) and stick it into a cushion whilst saying 'I pin the devil to find *' 3 times.

No idea where it comes from, my mum used to swear by it, I thought it was nonsense until I tried it once to find something I had been searching for for hours, walked upstairs 2 mins later and there it was right in front of me 🙀

How does this work if you only have one cushion and that's the thing you are trying to find?

Or worse - you only have inflatable cushions? (e.g. the whole family suffer from piles).

But I'll give it a try, although I do worry a bit that this is the slippery slope to making a pact with the Devil. 😱

I have a trick for finding things. It never fails.

Go to the place where you just KNOW it is e.g. the drawer you keep on opening even though you've checked it 20 times already. Now imagine a 1 meter sphere around that place. Methodically look in every inch of that sphere. It will be there.

The St Anthony thing is fascinating! I almost feel like losing something so I can give it a try!
Out of curiosity, does a general prayer to him work? Or does there have to be specific wording to the request?

And I thought he was the patron saint of travel, but I must be wrong (though it would kind of make sense for runaway items!).

St Christopher is the patron saint of travel.
St Ryan is the saint for cheap air travel (St. Anthony also deals with lost luggage) whilst St. Thomas is the saint for steam railways.)

What we say is "Antony Antony come around somethings lost that can't be found" honestly hasnt let me down yet

LadyEloise1 · 21/10/2022 09:27

The prayer I was taught is "St Anthony find, St Anthony seek my __"
But you must put money in the St Anthony box ( charity box ) in a church or give to charity to thank him when the lost item shows up.

I've just found a hat that I lost months ago. At a checkout this afternoon, I suddenly saw it in the bottom of the supermarket trolley!

After a brief moment of thinking, “What magic is this?” I realised it must have been in the bottom of my shopping bag all this time, and just fallen out.

Needless to say, I had bought a new one to replace it just a couple of weeks ago.

I found my missing swimming towel earlier, thanks to Anthony. Now i owe him.

None so far but I am making a more concerted effort to look for it in more obscure places. I've asked St Anthony to find it a few times now too and I promise if/when it turns up at a later date to update this, however long it takes! 😂

Fingers crossed.
I mislaid my engagement ring when newly engaged. Fairly distraught.
It turned up at the vanity unit / sink in my bedroom. The most obvious place in the world and I had, of course, looked there. Numerous times.
Miraculously appeared.
Years later I can't explain it.
Someone somewhere was looking out for me.
