To say it OK to pee in the shower?

So the question is, is it OK to pee whilst in the shower - proviso being you ensure you have washed everything away properly. The topic of conversation came up relating way back to one of the Big Brother series where someone admitted to regularly peeing in the shower.

One logic was 'well most families share one sponge/flannel/fluffy to wash their faces as well as all their bottoms and winky bits' ..........

I assume the people that think it's ok to pee in the shower instruct their small DC to do the same as soon as they are toilet trained?

No, disgusting. It makes the shower/bath smell. Grim.

Don't care how you 'wash it away' you CAN tell when someone does it (I could tell when my flatmate was doing it) and it's gross to shower in a bath/shower that smells of urine.

Maybe if you piss before you get out and don’t wash it away. There is no way fresh urine being washed down the drain, followed by soap and shampoo smells anymore than pissing in a toilet.

clpsmum · 25/09/2022 14:26

@Sparklingbrook not the case is it though? That would mean putting the shower on unnecessarily.

JoWawa · 25/09/2022 14:26

why wouldn't you share a towel with somone with whom you have sex with?

I've no idea how it all works really. Would momentarily putting the shower on to get rid of the pee use less water than flushing the loo, that's what needs to be calculated presumably.

Because I don't use other people's towels. That's it. DH has his and I have mine, why share a towel when there's no need to. We both shower before work-who would get first go on the towel and who would get the soggy go if we had to share?

JedRambosteen · 25/09/2022 14:37

I didn’t know peeing in the shower was a thing until the Big Brother controversy erupted. I’ve been doing it ever since. 😂

Where do you draw the line? Should spouses eat from each other's mouths too?

Sparklingbrook · 25/09/2022 14:42

TBF sharing a towel and a toothbrush between us all would be handy when packing, I could fit everything in our hand luggage.

ScurryfungeMaster · 25/09/2022 14:48

People share sponges? That's worse than peeing in the shower 😬

XenoBitch · 25/09/2022 14:57

Peeing in the shower is fine. It all gets washed away.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 25/09/2022 15:25

We don't share a flannel but we do share a body puff. I'm quite worried we're 'gross' now 😂

Magenta82 · 25/09/2022 15:44

I think it was discussed in the first season of Big Brother because of the cameras and rules on what would be shown. They could be shown in the shower but not on the loo so if it was possible they were peeing in the shower then it couldn't be shown.

Having said that it's fine to pee in the shower, but sharing sponges is going too far for me.

Same here with the just hands and soap! My hubby is the same.

Same!

I only use a sponge/loofah if I'm going to self-tan.

Only if you are alone in the shower

Not necessarily..... 😮

luckylavender · 25/09/2022 16:07

Of course it's ok

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 25/09/2022 16:07

What's wrong with not using a flannel?

I've not had one since I was a kid.

I just rub the soap over my skin in a similar way I do when I wash my hands.

Also re the towel argument...what's wrong with using a towel to wipe off the clean water from my skin and DH doing the same? It's not like it gets shoved up your arse crack and even if it did....it's a clean arse crack.

caringcarer · 25/09/2022 17:06

Why would anyone want/need to share a flannel/sponge? They cost about £1-2 each. Gross to share. Do you share toothbrushes too?

caringcarer · 25/09/2022 17:07

Why not wee before getting into shower?

MrsDThomas · 25/09/2022 17:32

Peeing in the shower is nothing.

im disgusted that people share a sponge/flannel though.

imagine you are washing your face and your DH has had a right old scrub at the balls with it.

waterlego · 25/09/2022 18:25

I always wee in the shower. Wouldn’t like the idea of sharing a flannel but none of us here use flannels; we use our hands to wash our bodies with soap.

Saves water.

Chloefairydust · 25/09/2022 21:32

Everyone pees in the shower … if they say otherwise they are lying 🤣

neighboursmustliveon · 25/09/2022 23:34

I always do.

Although a new low for me last week was getting into the shower just to wee. I have piles that are playing up, I've been in agony and sitting in the toilet can be painful and trying to relax to wee while sitting was just awful so I stood in the shower and did it there. I don't feel guilty about it. I washed it all down, it's perfectly clean after.

No they don’t and no they aren’t.
