To say it OK to pee in the shower?

So the question is, is it OK to pee whilst in the shower - proviso being you ensure you have washed everything away properly. The topic of conversation came up relating way back to one of the Big Brother series where someone admitted to regularly peeing in the shower.

One logic was 'well most families share one sponge/flannel/fluffy to wash their faces as well as all their bottoms and winky bits' ..........

I share flannels and used towels with my husband. We actually share a toothbrush sometimes…! We do know this is quite odd though!

DaphneeBridgerton · 27/09/2022 14:49

Oh I don’t pee in the shower though!

The shower drain leads into the toilet and sink drain.

So, we have the peeing in the shower thing. Gross, but often recommended. If you have to do so, please rinse and clean the shower after you.
Sharing towels. Don't, just don't. You're rubbing off dead skin cells and any bacteria personal to you. Unlike washing cloths, they aren't rinsed afterwards.
Wash cloths, sponges, flannels etc try and stick to your own, or at least rinse thoroughly after use - and for fluff's sake, people, use a separate cloth for your faces and not the same one as you use for your genitals and armpits!

You probably have each others genitals in your mouths, thats no grosser than sharing a flannel or toothbrush!

I dont understand the queasiness of sharing hygiene items with a partner. I dont CHOOSE to but I have done in a pinch when theres no option and been fine with it!

I'm actually really surprised.

I count myself as a bit of a scruff, so to learn that I think using a shower as a toilet is generally unacceptable whereas the consensus on here seems to be that it is OK surprises me.

I'm now going to revel in my higher standards.

During heavy period, wear a tampon in the shower yes or no? Had never thought of this!

I usually shower in the morning so always tampon free and put a clean on in after showering. I certainly wouldn't put one in just because I'm having a shower.

Indeed. I found myself wondering at some point if the responders thought they were being asked if it was OK to use the shower cubical like a urinal.

That is nasty … I don’t care what anyone thinks that is a disgusting thing to do.. fuckin lazy and feral too

QueenQueef · 27/09/2022 18:34

Peeing in the shower ok. Pooing only acceptable if you have DH's toothbrush to hand to poke it down

Feral people have showers?

GlomOfNit · 28/09/2022 09:20

I've never understood the disgust for a quick pee in the shower, it washes down the drain instantly and you continue to sluice the tray with hot soapy water! Grin

But sharing flannels or sponges for everyone to use, to wash genitals and smelly areas?? OMG YOU ARE A MONSTER

and also YABVVVU to use the phrase 'winky bits' <shudder>

My toddler has shat in the bath a couple of times - better burn the whole bathroom down just in case 😂
