I'm not sure why people are so fixated on the age of my son. He was 2 when this thread started and 3 by the time it concluded 🤷♀️ I know someone was apparently shocked I had a camera in my son's room and the only acceptable reason was because he was a baby.
When is it acceptable age to get rid of the baby camera monitor? It's not like he's 28. My garden is pretty big, I do have the camera on when I'm out in the garden hanging out the washing out because I like the reassurance of seeing him in case anything happens. Sorry that's unpalatable for some people 🤣 #NotSorry

Just took a look at the updated invoice he sent through yesterday and absolutely dying at the description regarding the deduction 🤣🤣🤣 also, my bad, his day rate was £432, not £425

These two threads are the best I’ve ever read on mn
The thread itself, some of the comments, the denouement ( good word) and the price he charges!
Perfection. Well played op

@Blondeshavemorefun
Not sure if you're still doing your old job now you have your own DC (beyond thrilled for you still & smile every time I see you post!!) but if you look on Amazon there are loads of different things with cams in them.
I now treat every room, in every house I'm in , as if it has a camera. It's a horrible feeling, especially when staying over
Blondeshavemorefun · 24/09/2022 07:55
Nice blanket and watch
I also thought she had an engagement ring but not sure if it’s part of the blanket
if I ever see a clock like that i will be on my best behaviour 😂

Very satisfying conclusion Op, thanks for updating us, so many posters don't bother. I'm glad you got your keys back an most importantly the precious certificate of works.
This was my favourite bit:
"Me (Taking out the next photo): 'So why do I have this photo of you kissing this woman in my kitchen up against my worktop?'
^^
Him: 'Er, um - it was just whilst I was waiting for the kettle to boil.'
I mean we all have a passionate snog when we are waiting for the kettle to boil, don't we? 😂
Americano75 · 24/09/2022 13:17
@IvyPlant apologies if you've done so already, but can you post a link to the cameras you bought from Amazon? Thanks!
ScreamingInfidelities · 24/09/2022 14:37
My husband proposed to me while we were waiting for the kettle to boil 🤣

I was just worried that you were giving a baby marblerun 🤣
You did say he was a baby and I get annoyed enough at people referring to 3 year olds as toddlers let alone as babies (even a two year old is not a baby) 😁

Really?
If so I think that speaks volumes about Mumsnet's decline.

I haven't, but here you go amzn.eu/d/4KQAuCf?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21
I did buy another one but wouldn't rate it unfortunately so not linking the other one.

Ah I see. Yeah that would be concerning 😬 he's not really a baby, but baby in the sense I still use a camera in his room to monitor him when he sleeps. He still has a baby gate on his bedroom door too. Steep Victorian stairs on the landing 👀

"Days labour deducted as apology"??
Looked quite bad??
Misleading intentions??
That's an interesting way of saying 'I didn't work those hours, should never of charged for them, and in fact owe you rent for the 2+ times I used your house as a knocking shop!'
Pikafuckingwho · 23/09/2022 21:03
Ooh I liked the one about the ghostie in the old mill work place.
