Apologies if there are other threads on this. How do we feel about it all? I don't particularly like a pile on but it seems like the tide has finally turned on these two. There was a time when everyone seemed to love them and their 'oh look we've turned up to a This Morning still pissed from an awards ceremony' was funny at the time. But I think it's gone to their heads and they've become more and more arrogant.

The queue jump situation for me was a clear sign of them thinking they are special, for want of a better phrase. Queuing showed dedication and respect but they just bypassed that. And the weak excuses since haven't helped at all. I see now Holly is consulting lawyers. It must be difficult for them to go on air knowing there's so much public bad feeling against them but I can't help but feel like they've had it coming for a while....

Anyone else?

I have never liked Phil, there is something quite cold and calculating about him. I be happy if he taken down a peg or two.

He certainly has been throughout this, it seems to have been Holly having to do the apologising and she has looked quite contrite, he certainly hasn't, just glared at the camera on this morning

I'm sick of hearing about them now, but as I said on another thread, they're not as popular as they used to be, especially since that cover up with Phil. Time for some fresh new talent ITV.

I’m fed up of people causing hurt to others. Some folks just get off causing shit and unwanted attention to people . This woke/ blaming stuff has got to stop.

They're annoying and fake and I can't stand either of them but I don't think people should lose their jobs because they do something social media mobs don't like. Phil should have gone before now anyway as his behaviour towards a young man he's known since childhood is extremely questionable. I think that's what's driving it tbh. Imo many people were disgusted by that but in these days of year round rainbow badges/police cars/crossing etc it's not the done thing to criticise a gay man, no matter how badly he might behave. Cancel culture comes for everyone in the end. People need to realise that when they're mindlessly supporting it on SM.

I think they’ve both reached their sell by date.

They have sufficient lucrative contracts to be able to manage without the programme, which they seem to regard as an extra in any case. They aren’t on the programme for every half term and every holiday. Philip retail y doesn’t have childcare responsibilities. People have known for some time that they’re taking the proverbial and have had enough. This has just given an excuse to make a concerted effort to get rid.

I can't bear them but this campaign to get rid is appalling. What if it was you in your job. If the boss wanted rid of you, you'd hope they'd put you through a humane process, whether that be a disciplinary/improvement process or a settlement agreement. Do you think it would be OK if they instead sent a vote button to all your colleagues with the results flashed up on a screen? Hounded you publicly until you quit? Even people with vast salaries and public profile deserve to be treated with some degree of humanity.

Ordinarily I'd agree, but there have been quite a few questions around PS that the public haven't seen addressed to their satisfaction. And that matters when you are the public face and it's your job to present a positive image.
I wonder if the runner had the benefit of proper process.

Totally agree that people have had enough of them and the rumours of bad behaviour which have been swept under the carpet. This is a way to try to bring accountability for people in highly paid jobs who appear to be untouchable

Don’t care about the queue jumping, but pup should have gone after it came out about his in appropriate relationship with a young colleague, and she just go because she’s false and irritating!

Running a dystopian Robocop style game to win the cost of your Heating Bills? - Fine.

Grooming a young man for sex when in a position of power then only coming clean when being threatened with being exposed? - Fine.

Jumping a queue? - Not fine.

They should place them both in stocks outside the gates of Buckingham Palace and allow anyone to throw rotten fruit at them, put it on a pay-per-view channel and give the money to charity.

They present a TV show. They got fast queue tickets so they could report on the experience for millions of viewers as part of their job.

I think they are dull as ditchwater and never watch it, but they did nothing wrong whatsoever.

'Report on the experience'? utter BS. If they wanted to 'report on the experience' then they should have queued 12+ hours like everyone else and spoken to various people in the queue.

MP's and peers skipped the queue at the beginning and they were allowed to bring 4 guests. They haven't received the back lash Holly and Phil have.

I understand people of pissed off but to start a campaign to get them of TV is a hateful witch hut. If you don' like them, don't watch their show.

The hate is this country is getting worse.

The thing with the young runner really wasn't fine at all and should never have been brushed under the carpet in the way it was. The start of Covid helped with that but enough had come out to indicate a very cliquey, insular thing going on at ITV which seems most unhealthy. I had no particular view on PS before that and still don't have much of one on HW, other than finding her vapid.

Both of them have been in the media long enough to realise what the optics of them even being perceived to have jumped that queue would be so I don't have much sympathy now. PS at least seems to be untouchable so I'm sure could have protested if they were asked to make the visit to Westminster Hall in that way.

I think they are the faces of the incestuous nature of ITV. It's not just This Morning. It's dancing on ice, celebrity juice, Philips quiz show. Can't remember what else they're on because I barely watch iTV. Phil and Holly, ant and Dec, Stephen mulhern, Keith lemon (urgh), they seem to have the monopoly on ITv shows and I think it's starting to grate.

Bunch of self satisfied, unfunny, smug twats. The lot of them.

The queue jumping is just a red herring, I think it is a convenient minor infraction that has been been used to vent against the insufferably perma smug giggling self appointed king and queen of day time TV. Holly could probably survive this insofar as going on to other projects where I think people have had enough of 'Brave Phil' and his PR team.

I think this is a perfect summary.Why does it have to be an anchor group for so long anyway.

I don’t have a problem with any celebrity queue jumping anything or getting privately to places. The level of harassment they get from members of the public wanting to take photos and sign stuff etc when you’re just trying to go about your life. Must be hell.

Seriously?? The 'level of harassment' you talk of is the trade off for being paid hundreds of thousands of pounds for not doing much.

The entire debacle is just completely ridiculous!

I can’t stand daytime tv, and ITV daytime tv is in my eyes, the panicle of utter shitness. (Some people like it and that’s totally fine, we are all entitled to enjoy our own share of utter shite.)

However, there really has been a massive over reaction. Even if they are about as journalistic as The Beano, they were there together doing it for their TV show as “journalists”.

I think people who just dislike them are the ones kicking up a stink because they are a pair of smug, squeaky, mentally corrosive, magazine show puppets.

We can't be shocked that two presenters of ITV did something crass. ITV also announced the death of the Queen to members of the public, filmed their reaction for live TV.

It's not journalism. It's just shite day time TV again and again.

It’s ridiculously OTT. Clearly just everyone piling on the bandwagon. If only people were this angry about Liz truss telling them that making her Rich friends richer is the priority and then eventually we might get richer off the back of that one day..
