Anyone else ? How ridiculous is that ? I just got really cold today at 20-21 degrees. I need 22-23 I think.

The tip of my nose was all cold. I'm ridiculous right ? When I speak to anyone else (normal people) they seem perfectly comfortable at 20 degrees- that's warm for them.

I was wearing a jumper by the way !

Me too- this the first day I have felt cold in a while. We lit the log burner, but the central heating is still off. Feels like a shock to the system after the summer heatwaves!

marmitegirl01 · 16/09/2022 21:58

I SO wanted to put heating in tonight. Me & daughter had blankets & scarves for first part of evening, other daughter was sat in tshirt and leggings all night 🤷‍♀️

Interviewhelp12 · 16/09/2022 22:01

Definitely felt cold walking the dog this evening. I guess it depends where you are too, I’m south. I wouldn’t say it’s heating weather here but it made me think it soon would be and dashed my ideas of keeping it off until the October half term.
my bedroom thermostat, which is the coldest room in the house says 19.5 so I imagine the living room is still 20-21. I’m in a nightie and feel ok.

Esssa · 16/09/2022 22:01

Blankets, jumpers and the log burner on for the first time tonight. I'm still bundled up and it's now 21° up from 17° before the fire was lit.

Meredusoleil · 16/09/2022 22:02

My nose kept running when I went out today, but I only really felt cold when the clouds covered the sun. Inside the house otoh, is another matter! Had to shut all windows and put a fleece on ffs 😐

bloodywhitecat · 16/09/2022 22:02

I've lit the log burner.

c3pu · 16/09/2022 22:03

I spent the day in shorts and T-shirt, but had to put on trousers and a jumper for the first time since the spring this evening.

Hopefully another month or two before I need the heating on though!

StarDolphins · 16/09/2022 22:03

It’s was 17 degrees in our house, I felt cold but out oodie on but DD came home & said she was cold so that decided it. I put the heating on. Only for 45mins though.

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 16/09/2022 22:04

There’s a real chill in the air this evening! I’m trying out my new heated throw.

AnneLovesGilbert · 16/09/2022 22:04

Stealth boast? 😉

It’s been naffing cold here today and I’ve got two pairs of socks on and three tops. Last week I was in summer dresses and flip flops but autumn is here…

No one is putting the heating on here till the clocks change.

CaptainMerica · 16/09/2022 22:05

My living room dipped to 14 tonight, so I've boosted it for an hour to 19, and it's feeling lovely.

It's at that awkward time of year, where you don't want to put the heating on, but towels aren't drying when you hang them up by the next time you want to use them.

PurpleFlower1983 · 16/09/2022 22:06

I would normally have had it on but we’re not putting it on until November! 🤣

NewBootsAndRanty · 16/09/2022 22:06

It's definitely chilly this evening. Sitting under a blanket but resisting putting the heating on yet...

Sunbird24 · 16/09/2022 22:08

I put mine on for a bit too. Had the heated seats & steering wheel on in the car this morning as well!

I’m not on mains gas and I’m moving house soon so anything I don’t use from the tank my buyers will get for free. Not going to freeze myself if I don’t have to. 🤷🏻‍♀️

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination · 16/09/2022 22:09

Depends where you are I suppose. My friend sent me a weather link showing snow on the Cairngorms. So I expect some heating has gone in there!

I'm in the SE (of England) it was 9° on the school run this morning. When I got home I went in the bathroom, it was chilly and I was tempted to pop the heating on for an hour, but I didn't. Not so much for the ££ but more because of the possible shortages & environmental issues, but I did think the pathetic amount I'd save means nothing in the big picture.

it has just now dropped in temperature in the lounge.

im not going to be able to leave mine off though, as while I can keep myself warm, I get an irritating cough when the air is cold.

it's already started 🙄🙄

Raddix · 16/09/2022 22:09

I’m freezing but can’t afford to put the heating on. The house is 17c and I’m saving my money for when it drops below 15c. I’ve gone to bed so I can be under the blankets where it’s warmer. This is the sort of thing I had to do as a child with an unemployed single mum, I never dreamed I’d be doing it again as an adult with two salaries coming in.

piffle123 · 16/09/2022 22:10

We're in East Anglia and this is definitely the first day in months it's been a bit chilly. Felt strange!

Grandeur · 16/09/2022 22:11

Heating in September? Don't see why people can't just wear layers or get under a duvet TBH. It's not hard.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 16/09/2022 22:12

If has felt cold this evening. I've had to close all doors where there's a draught and put my Oodie on which I didn't think I'd need yet. Also got proper pjs on instead of t shirt ones. Usually I would've put the heating on but trying not to. It's set at 19 and the temp was at 19.5

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 16/09/2022 22:14

It's my wedding anniversary on Sunday and last year when I got married it was a beautiful warm day. Seems strange

Charcy · 16/09/2022 22:14

I've literally just been upstairs and popped an extra blanket on my sleeping baby. She doesn't think it's cold as she unceremoniously kicked off her 1st blanket and is snoring away 🤣
I on the other hand, am bloody cold 🤣

Sprogonthetyne · 16/09/2022 22:14

Not heating weather yet, but dressing gown has come out the last week or so and will probably change back to winter duvets this weekend.

littlemisscreative · 16/09/2022 22:16

I turned mine just for my toddler whose come down with a cold and shes been shivering all day... my bedroom window is open as I can't stand being hot or warm at night though

IckyPop · 16/09/2022 22:16

StarDolphins · 16/09/2022 22:03

It’s was 17 degrees in our house, I felt cold but out oodie on but DD came home & said she was cold so that decided it. I put the heating on. Only for 45mins though.

Same here, minus the oodie and DD thoughGrin

Xiaoxiong · 16/09/2022 22:18

Definitely the first day with a nip in the air. We don't control our own heat so have to wait until Oct 15th at the earliest...a long way to go yet.

I pulled all the curtains and made sure no gaps, did an exercise video to warm up, and have brought out the heavyweight duvet for our bed. Another 5 degrees cooler and the hot water bottles will be deployed - last line of defence is the electric blanket.
