Anyone else ? How ridiculous is that ? I just got really cold today at 20-21 degrees. I need 22-23 I think.

The tip of my nose was all cold. I'm ridiculous right ? When I speak to anyone else (normal people) they seem perfectly comfortable at 20 degrees- that's warm for them.

I was wearing a jumper by the way !

Sat outside in the sun in shorts and T-shirts and today but 3´ overnight and cold if you’re lucky enough not to live in a super modern house that will lose the heat quickly overnight. I’ll be putting the heating on tonight just to warm up the upstairs, as despite pyjamas and blankets needed hot water bottle last night!

We just got back from a week’s holiday and our Victorian house was still 20.5 when we got back. If your house is losing that much heat that quickly you seriously need to look into plugging up draughts and insulating.

Could posters say what part of the UK they are in when they say it isn't even jumper weather yet etc, because here it definitely is jumper weather (Yorkshire)

Outside Newcastle. 16 degrees and sunny. Not jumper weather! Obviously it was colder this morning but it’s been warm enough since about 10:30/11.

RampantIvy · 17/09/2022 13:59

16 degrees is jumper weather for me I'm afraid.

DancingBudgie · 17/09/2022 14:03

Mine has been on for the last couple of days and it's highly unlikely to be turned off until next spring, apart from when I go to bed.

Berkshire - it’s 17 today. I went to the shops just now and regretted wearing jeans.

And me. It's reached the dizzy heights of 11 here according to my car and I'm in vest top, long sleeve top, and a jumper. Debating putting my oodie on on top.

TattiePants · 17/09/2022 14:40

I'm very tempted but resisting, currently snuggled up under a blanket with a hot water bottle while I work. I'd promised myself I wouldn't put the heating on until November but I can't see me lasting for another 6 weeks. It's getting a bit chilly on the NE coast and my 4 loads of washing that I've had on the line since 8 o'clock this morning is making no effort to dry!

I'm in Lancashire. It's 19 degrees here today. It's a perfectly mild and sunny early Autumn day. Baffled by all these people claiming to be freezing.

RampantIvy · 17/09/2022 14:55

Because it isn't 19 degrees everywhere else.
Baffled by all these people who don't understand this.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 17/09/2022 14:57

I'm in London, my house is 16 degrees, i'm freezing but cant afford to put the heating on

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 17/09/2022 15:03

Oh so you’re RICH rich.

HorribleHerstory · 17/09/2022 15:10

It is a high of 13 today and 5 overnight where I am, we are known to live in a cold place unfortunately

I don’t know what temperature it is inside but our heating won’t come on until it is below 5 degrees indoors, which is relatively unusual. Reading this thread I’m wishing we had a log burner but we don’t, just the central heating, and we can’t limit it to one room so it’s basically just staying on the 5 degree setting to stop the pipes freezing.

I didn’t know a winter duvet was a thing so I might look at that. We do have hot water bottles but have never really used them so might have to start. Also intrigued by a heated throw, any recommendations?

NewBootsAndRanty · 17/09/2022 15:11

I ended up putting mine on for half an hour before bed last night. Smart meter reckons it cost me 30p, which hasn't left me bankrupt... yet.

I've just halved my annual electricity bill by replacing my fridge freezer, so I reckon I've got a little more wriggle room with my gas budget now.

16 degrees is jumper weather for me I'm afraid.

Guess that clears up any confusion then! Winter must be hard work if 16 is jumper weather though.

bbcdefg · 17/09/2022 15:21

@NCHammer2022 it certainly is for me

I spend an enormous amount of time and energy planning to keep warm enough. It's horrible

CoffeeIsForClosers · 17/09/2022 16:19

I'm absolutely loving the weather turning. Definitely not heating weather, though (N Wales). Add-another-layer-weather, yes.

I have some sensory issues and hate just having a t-shirt or vest top on. My happy place is flannel PJ bottoms, bootee slippers, a long-sleeve top and a big chunky cardi that I can wrap around me. So that's what I'm wearing right now, and I LOVE it.

Still got the summer duvet on but have added a bedspread on top.

I deliberately went to the supermarket early the other day just so I could wear a jacket. 🙃

Always4Brenner · 17/09/2022 16:49

Window open but put oodie on for bit it’s lovey and sunny here.

Yes. I loathe winter.
16 degrees is jumper weather for most people I know.

userxx · 17/09/2022 18:49

@RampantIvy I wear flip flops in that temperature!

dancinfeet · 17/09/2022 19:02

I have a onesie on over my pjs, and fluffy socks- not got the heating on yet but it definitely feels much colder today, and much more like autumn is here

JudgeJ · 17/09/2022 19:13

Bonjovispjs · 17/09/2022 08:45

I'm still sleeping with the window open in London🤷🏻‍♀️

Me too! Windows are open round the house and the French windows, that's in Norfolk. If it does get a bit chilly I may stop wearing shorts and a vest top during the day, inside temp is in the low 20s though it was lovely and cool last night!

Meggie2008 · 17/09/2022 19:18

It was a fairly pleasant afternoon here in West Scotland (around 17 degrees) but it's a wee bit chilly tonight. I've got my dressing gown on and a few candles on

PeloFondo · 17/09/2022 19:25

Mine just clicked on! Ran to turn it off, I've got the window open and bare feet Blush
