He's into environmental issues, wants a slimmed down monarchy, embraces multiculturalism and his speech was warm and heartfelt.
He shook hands with the crowds outside the palace with genuine emotion.
I am not sure how i feel about how he treated Diana but he should always have married Camilla.

@CathyorClaire That's disappointing about Diana, I thought she had more discernment. I heard, years ago, that she found Savile creepy. It seems more photos are being released of Diana with Savile, and I believe they are making a film showing her in a hospital with him. I wonder if there will be any information about Charles' relationship with Savile forthcoming. Savile was a very odd choice of marriage counsellor, was he even married or did he have some qualification, I wonder.

It’s all nonsense. People didn’t pay attention to detail when they should have and a historical moment was slightly marred by it.

And the face he pulled - he was making light of needing help and again he shouldn’t have been put in that situation. Even then were a bit slow on reacting to the situation and prior to that you could see when Camilla went to sign the document she had to kind of curve her hand over the document to sign it. And at the end William had to put the lid back on the ink bottle in case it got knocked over the document.

The man is an arrogant anachronism. If it had been dealt with amusingly together with a wry smile and understanding, he would be lauded for his attitude.

As it is, he is being castigated for his arrogance and superiority both in body language and gesture. Camilla knows what he is like. But she can head off to Ray Mill House whenever she wants for a bit of respite!

Camilla knows what he is like.

She does. She’s loved him for most of both their lives and is clearly very happy with him when they’re not being put under intolerable stress.

I am not doubting their happiness together. However she signed up for her role as the King's wife, and that brings inevitable stress with it. It is how it is dealt with that shows the measure of a person.

I expect a PR 'leak' of Charles joshing with his servants or some such nonsense

Most people , esp young people, see through all the manipulation

Even royalists are getting fed up with the constant coverage .

plenty of sources out there say C and C lead separate lives. Do they? I have no idea. As much idea anyone has that they are blissfully happy together in private.

I really like Charles! I met him when I was at college and he was very funny! We asked him something like "can we marry your sons?" And laughed and said something like "take your pick" Grin.

I think he'll be a good King and I think now is a good time for William to take on the Prince of Wales role and prepare for his own ascent to the Crown.

Same, I met him on two of his visits to Australia in the 80s! When I said “I shook your hand last time you were here” he said “It’s all right, there was no permanent damage!” 😆
