A continuation from thread 2. This is a place to mourn HM Queen Elizabeth II with respect and compassion, and to share our thoughts and feelings. RIP Our Wonderful Queen.

Thank you for all of your comments in the other threads, so much integrity and love. What a journey these threads have been, I never imagined the outcome.

I bawled when they announced it. Pizza guy had to give me a hug.

He will have that 'where were you when the Queen died moment' and the memory of someone blurbing all over him!!!

Supersad · 08/09/2022 19:41

My mum died September 9th 2021. This has bought it all back. I am super sad and missing my own mum. My heart goes out to the queen's children and grandchildren. Can't imagine how Charles must be feeling right now, losing his mum and having the spotlight of the world on him. And now the responsibility of king, and he's not young himself. Take care Charles

thelastgreatdynasty · 08/09/2022 19:42

Gosh, it really is so sad.

YoniWheretheSunDontShine · 08/09/2022 19:43

It's hard to take in

I didn't care much for Philip but he was put out to pasture for a long time and his decline in those last three weeks were well documented.

This is so shocking!

She was on her feet greeting the new pm.

All we were told were "mobility" issues!
It's shocking!!

Antarcticant · 08/09/2022 19:45

Every time they say 'The King' it just sounds wrong.

Vapeyvapevape · 08/09/2022 19:46

Thank you for the new thread

I'm on flood's again, clapping and cheering outside palace.

The notice seems incredibly small.

RedToothBrush · 08/09/2022 19:47

I'm watching the pictures of the locals near Balmoral walking up with bunches of flowers and thinking the local petrol station must be doing a cracking trade tonight.

Festoonlights · 08/09/2022 19:50

Can you please show us a photo of the notice at the palace?

Vino, I rather think that should be reserved for Andrew actually.

Harry himself had a rather trying time as a young boy.

Aquarius1234 · 08/09/2022 19:50

I thought there would be more discussion regarding what happened. Its all very repetitive.

RedToothBrush · 08/09/2022 19:51

'The rock on which modern Britain was build'

Is such a good way for Truss to have phrased the Queen.

Lonelycrab · 08/09/2022 19:51

A very sad day😔

Thanks for the threads

Festoonlights · 08/09/2022 19:53

I so wish the threads had not resulted in this outcome, but you have been the best company to share such a sad day with. 💐

From the Royal British Legion

Phillip came to me today,

and said it was time to go.

I looked at him and smiled,
as i whispered that "I know"

I then turned and looked behind me,

and saw I was asleep.

All my Family were around me,

and I could hear them gently weep.

I softly touched each shoulder,

with Phillip by my side.

Then I turned and walked away,

with My Angel guide.

Phillip held my hand,

as he lead the way,

to a world where King's and Queens,

are Monarch's every day.

I was
given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.

The difference is up here,

they are worn by everyone.

I felt a sense of peace,

my reign had seen its end.

70 years I had served my Country,

as the peoples friend.

Thank you for the years,

for all your time and love.

Now I am one of two again,

in our Palace up above.

R.I.P Queen Elizabeth 2nd.

RedToothBrush · 08/09/2022 19:54

I wonder what the stamps, the coins and the notes are going to look like.

When do they start production?

Blossomtoes · 08/09/2022 19:54

“Matriarch of the country”. Perfect.

OldTinHat · 08/09/2022 19:55

Heartbreaking. What an amazing woman, I will miss her. Charles has big shoes to fill...
