A continuation from thread 2. This is a place to mourn HM Queen Elizabeth II with respect and compassion, and to share our thoughts and feelings. RIP Our Wonderful Queen.

Did Harry ever arrive or was it false news?

girlmom21 · 08/09/2022 19:57

I was upset watching the reports and my 3 year old asked what was wrong. I told her the Queen has died (she's understands the basic concept of the life cycle) and she asked why. I told her she was really old. She said "is the going to be a princess again now?" 😭

Vapeyvapevape · 08/09/2022 19:58

@SleepingStandingUp hes just arrived

I read that he landed in Aberdeen as they made the announcement.

Tierne · 08/09/2022 19:58

Does anybody have a link to Boris' speech?

Did Harry ever arrive or was it false news?

BBC have shown him just arriving.
They we’re at pains to point out he did not travel with the rest of the family.
I was assuming they were waiting for him to arrive, but assuming it would have taken too long if he’s only just arrived

Tierne · 08/09/2022 19:59

Fuck knows why Harry took so long to get there

mistermagpie · 08/09/2022 19:59

I've just watched the Ed Sheeran song that someone posted on the other thread, so much beautiful footage of the Queen, she was just lovely when she was young.

I've always had a soft spot for her, my grandmother used to joke that she was the queen because they were exactly the same age and had the same hair! She died herself in June and the Queens death has brought all that back. My grandmothers life was quietly significant, whilst the Queens was of worldwide importance, but ultimately they were both family women who lived long and meaningful lives. I will remember them both tonight.

YoniWheretheSunDontShine · 08/09/2022 19:59

Vino sorry but Harry lost his mother in the most traumatic way possible. No comfort could be drawn from her passing at all. He was then made to walk behind her coffins etc and then everything else that he had to endure whilst at school. Her inquest, al Fayed, burrel stealing from her ,more court cases, was she pregnant .

He's got a ticket of freedom from me.

It's not the place for it..

He was 12 and his Grandma passing and at Balmoral where he was when he learned of his mother's death will be crushing.

JubileeTissues · 08/09/2022 20:00

I hate that poem. It's everywhere.

Who wrote it? Her whole family weren't around her, nobody knows she was asleep or that anyone was "gently weeping".

Such entitlement and all for "likes".

I wonder what the stamps, the coins and the notes are going to look like.

When do they start production?

I imagine it will slowly change. There will be a big news story when the first coin or note has the profile of King Charles III.

I now work for His Majesty's........

I asked the same question!

I thought he was already in London?

OliverBabish · 08/09/2022 20:06

I think there was likely some sort of drama about H&M going. Confirmed to both be travelling then he was confirmed a few hours later to be travelling alone, and left much later than the others.

Did Harry ever arrive or was it false news?

I was wondering.. 🫣 she'd long gone by the time he rocked up.

VestaTilley · 08/09/2022 20:08

I’m absolutely heartbroken. I cannot believe it. I genuinely thought she’d go on for years yet.

The end of an era; we won’t see her like again. May she rest in peace, our greatest monarch, Elizabeth II.

She's almost certainly the last British Queen any of us will ever see and I doubt there'll ever be as popular a monarch in the world again.

DH was saying about how he and all his Scouts will have to retake their pledge to His Majesty next week.

Its just so weird thinking about how many things have to change.

Its every thing from stamps to all those supermarket products with the Queen's crest.

Its madness.

I agree, it horrible and also seems so jarring when applied to the Queen.

I believe he was in Germany.

Y7drama · 08/09/2022 20:12

I feel so sad. It feels surreal, somehow I thought she’d go on forever.

YoniWheretheSunDontShine · 08/09/2022 20:13

It's his blood vino.

It's his family.

It's not his fault he has to do it in public.

Many people dislike their family but love them .
I'm aghast that anyone first thought is poor Harry not, vile putrid Andrew and his vile "friends".

I don't wish to discuss it further but after what happened to a 12 year old boy who is currently in the same place where he lost his mother in the most traumatic way,I think it's deeply distasteful

Waynettaaa · 08/09/2022 20:14

Although I've been watching all day, it just feels so surreal.

Such an incredible lady.

Tierne · 08/09/2022 20:14

What an amazing feeling it must be for liz Truss to know that she was the Queens final official engagement
