The Queen is under 'medical supervision'
Festoonlights · 08/09/2022 12:44
The Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became concerned for her health, Buckingham Palace says.
"Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision," they said in a statement.
"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."
Her immediate family has been informed.
The announcement comes after the Queen, 96, pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday, with doctors advising her to rest.
Breaking news BBC
We very much hope she is okay, it made me feel sad to read this. I think the line her immediate family have been informed was a worrying line.
Am I being unreasonable?

I feel like we are being prepared. She looks wonderful in the photo too.

I'm not a royalist, but I don't think the national pscyhe has really prepared itself for this. On top of (waves hand) everything else.
Faciadipasta · 08/09/2022 12:47
Really isn't great timing for the country either sadly.
NovaDeltas · 08/09/2022 12:48
I don't understand how anyone can 'be sad' about a stranger so distant they may as well be a character in a book.

She looked so frail in that photo on Tuesday.
It's a shame she isn't at Windsor her favorite place at the moment.

Twitter thinks she has sadly died. Apparently there are various notes being passed around the Commons and MPs making a hasty exit.

I read that Prince Charles has been visiting daily.
God help us this autumn and winter
JacquelineCarlyle · 08/09/2022 12:50
I hope she's ok - she looked frail but certainly not at death's door in the photo with Liz Truss.
stillherenow · 08/09/2022 12:50
How on earth did she get dressed and pose for that photo shoot. Incredible

Is there a day that Twitter doesn't think that?

Foreign press have been reporting bone cancer for past year
Festoonlights · 08/09/2022 12:52
My Granny did the same to make her way to the hospital - pearls to match even, and 48 hours later she was gone.
They are an incredible generation - so strong and stoic, with an awareness of real hardship our generation can hardly care to imagine from at least one world war.
LadyCatStark · 08/09/2022 12:53
I mean it’s sad, but I’m not sure how it’ll make our autumn and winter worse?
Thesearmsofmine · 08/09/2022 12:53
Twitter always thinks the queen is dead, they were the same with Prince Phillip too.
She is obviously very unwell, she is very fortunate that she is able to be cared for at home by the very best private doctors.

I like the Queen. I'll be sad when she passes away, in an abstract sort of way.
Realistically she's 96, her health has been failing recently and she will not live forever. She's had a bloody good run.

economically not a good time to loose a days productivity (possibly 2 with the coronation) from the economy you mean ?

It is unusual for any statement to be made about HM The Queen's health. 'Concerned' is worrying as is saying close family members have been informed. However, she is at Balmoral, comfortable and resting so I think we should not be expecting the very worst.
Sky just saying William is on his way - so perhaps it is more worrying than I thought.
I'll be very sad if anything does happen to her.
